The TRACU (Trauma Recovery Acute Care Unit) is a 33-bed unit that provides care to adult trauma patients. Priority for admission is given to any adult patient with neurosurgical or orthopedic trauma. A variety of interventions including portable ventilators, multisystem trauma care, pain management and blood/blood products administration pre/post op care of adult neurosurgical patients including those requiring ventriculostomy management, may occur in this patient population.
