Responsibilities include: Performing patient assessments, H&Ps, daily progress notes, and ongoing management of hospitalized burn patients. Providing patient and family education, communicating treatment plans, and serving as a key liaison for families throughout the hospitalization. Coordinating care with multiple disciplines, including surgery, nursing, rehabilitation services, case management, social work, nutrition, and other consulting teams. Performing burn dressing changes at the bedside and assisting with dressing changes completed under sedation. Facilitating transitions of care and coordinating discharge planning and outpatient follow-up. Participating in multidisciplinary rounds and collaborative care planning. In addition to clinical responsibilities, the position may include: Updating and maintaining burn service protocols, clinical practice guidelines (CPGs), and workflow processes.
