The CRNA will function under the medical direction of the anesthesiologist with regard to pre-anesthetic, anesthetic and post-anesthetic patient management. As a faculty member, the CRNA will clinically educate as a preceptor for SRNAs. SRNA Grant/Illinois Nurse Educator Loan Repayment Program Rush offers all SRNAs the SRNA Grant and Service Agreement. Up to one year before starting on with Rush as a CRNA, students are eligible for a grant to help pay for the cost of their education. Illinois Nurse Educator Loan Repayment Program- $5,000 of loan forgiveness per year up to four years total. The Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is responsible for the comprehensive management of critically ill adult patients in collaboration with attending physicians, fellows, residents, nursing staff, and multidisciplinary team members. The APP provides evidence-based critical care to patients with complex surgical, trauma, transplant, and emergency general surgery conditions. In this role, you will provide direct care to patients, in collaboration with the multidisciplinary health team in accordance with privileges approved by the credentials committee, to include identification, management, and/or referral of health problems. Conduct comprehensive or episodic health assessments and develop patient care plans within clinical practice and medical care protocols. Take patient histories, conduct physical examinations, and record the date in the patient's record; screen patients to determine the need for hospital admission, making referrals to other disciplines as indicated, write progress notes; prepare patient workups and summaries noting pertinent positive and negative findings; obtain psychosocial history relevant to patient care, and assume responsibility for developing therapeutic relationships with patients. Order and schedule laboratory studies and diagnostic procedures; explain necessity, preparation, nature and anticipated effects of scheduled diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to the patient. Evaluate outcomes of care delivered to patients and initiates changes in the nursing approach accordingly. Be the Best Hospice Admissions RN You Can Be If you meet these qualifications, we would love to meet you: Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state(s) of practice, with an associate degree preferred and CPR certification recommended (required for direct patient care in Georgia). Must meet state-specific regulatory requirements. Previous nursing experience in hospice, home health, general medical-surgical, or population-specific care (e.g., pediatrics, geriatrics) is required, along with willingness to serve on-call. Must have a reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license, and the minimum required liability auto insurance. Strong communication and organizational skills, with working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and EMR systems. Must be able to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team. Physically able to lift patients over 200 pounds (with assistance), stand, walk, sit, stoop, and perform other physical movements frequently. Regular exposure to indoor environments, vibration, and moderate noise expected. Responsibilities: Assess patient and family for physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs and collaborates with patients and families, physician, and Interdisciplinary Group (IDG) to establish the plan of care, implement interventions and/or evaluate care Initiate and maintain communication with attending physician, Medical Director, IDG, Team Director (TD), and IDG and other agencies to coordinate optimal care and use of resources for the patient and family Especially, in the event of unusual or potentially problematic patient and family issues Document according to protocol and maintain up-to-date patient records. SEEKING WEEKEND WARRIORS JOB SUMMARY Responsible to provide direct nursing care to the customer, and to supervise the day-to- day nursing activities performed by the nursing assistants. QUALIFICATIONS Must possess a current, unencumbered license to practice as a RN or LPN in the State of Illinois and/or Wisconsin. Must possess current CPR certificate or become certified within two weeks of employment. Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures. Demonstrates interest and/or knowledge in care of the aged. Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language in an understandable manner. Assume all Nursing procedures and protocols are followed in accordance with established policies. Directly supervise and instruct the Ladies and Gentlemen of Alden on a number of topics to promote job knowledge. Ensure all the Ladies and Gentlemen of Alden follow established departmental policies and procedures, including appropriate dress code. Assist in developing a written plan of care for each customer that identifies the problems/needs of the customer. Attends and actively participates in customer care plan conference as directed. Report all concerns, complaints made by the customer or their family to the Administrator. Counsel/discipline nursing personnel as requested or as necessary. Make daily rounds to ensure nursing personnel are performing required duties, and to ensure appropriate procedures are being followed. Make physical rounds to all customers daily. Make rounds with physicians as necessary. Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest, and positive emphasis, as well as a calm environment throughout the department. Attend and participate in continuing education programs. Recommend to the Director of Nursing the equipment and supply needs of the department. Place orders for medications and treatments as necessary following established budgetary guidelines. Utilize PCC 24-hour summary concerning recommendations/concerns related to customer care needs. Fill out complete accident/incident reports. Encourage attending physicians to review treatment plans, record and sign their orders, progress notes, etc., in accordance with established policies. Chart nurses’ notes in an informative and descriptive manner that reflects the care provided to the customer, as well as the customer’s response to the care. Complete required assessments upon the customer’s admission, transfer, and/or discharge. Receive telephone orders from physicians and record on the Physicians’ Order Form and P.O.S. Record new/changed diet orders. Forward information to the Dietary Department. Perform routine charting duties as required and in accordance with our established Charting and Documentation Policies and Procedures. Responsible for completion of admission, discharge, and transfer processes. Prepare and administer medications and treatments if appropriate as ordered by the physician. Review medication record for completeness of information, accuracy in the transcription of the physician’s order, and adherence to stop order policies. Administer professional services such as: catheterization, tube feedings, suction, applying and changing dressings/bandages, packs, colostomy, and drainage bags, care of the dead/dying, etc., as required. Participate in the orientation of new customers/family members to the facility. Arrange for diagnostic and therapeutic services, as ordered by the physician. Notify the customer’s attending physician and family when there is a change in the customer’s conditions. Obtain sputum, urine and other lab tests as ordered. Take and record TPR’s, blood pressures, accuchecks, etc., as necessary. Contact the customer’s physician for: Nursing assessment of change of condition. Medication orders or charges. To inform of incidents. To report abnormal results of Lab and X-ray. Anything else pertinent to the customers’ care and well-being. Ensure the nurses’ notes and monthly summaries reflect the care plan and is being followed. Attend staff meetings, etc., as directed. Perform other related duties as assigned.
