The CCU is supported by an intensivist‑led physician team that provides progressive, research‑driven, and highly engaged clinical partnership. Both the CCU and Stepdown Unit benefit from strong operational support, including PCTs, dedicated Health Unit Coordinators, a Mobile Vascular Access Team for peripheral and central line procedures, and four Clinical Leaders who serve as readily available resources. The Clinical Leader facilitates culturally sensitive patient care from pre-admission through post-discharge by managing, coordinating, and monitoring resources to achieve optimal clinical and financial outcomes, resource utilization, and quality service. This role assists the Nurse Manager in planning, directing, and supervising the overall operation of the assigned nursing unit on a 24-hour basis. Serving as a clinical resource and educator to unit and department staff in their area of expertise, the Clinical Leader works within the department and as part of CentraState’s management team to implement patient care and service goals established by senior leadership. Able to verbalize and demonstrate proper rationale and techniques surrounding all aspects of indwelling urinary catheter care as per policy # 4668. Fulfills the requirements for competencies and completion of annual mandatories surrounding indwelling urinary catheters. Takes a patient assignment when necessary. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Nursing required. Master's degree in Nursing required or must be obtained within 3 years from date of hire (or internal transfer) as a condition of employment. A minimum of two years experience in ICU/CCU as an RN required. Previous supervisory experience preferred. Current NJ RN License required. BLS & ACLS Certification required. Certification in specialty area preferred. Completion of the specialty specific pharmacology test is required.
