HVPCU is an all RN staff and operates with a nurse patient ratio of 1:2-3, as well as a dedicated charge nurse free from a patient assignment. HVPCU is one of two inpatient units that care for advanced Heart Failure patients with Left Ventricular Assist Devices (LVADs) and continuous inotrope support. With a mix of both medical and surgical service lines, the HVPCU nurse is well rounded in both types of nursing. Aside from vasopressors, the HVPCU manages and titrates multiple IV drips, and manages complex patient care by assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care. UPMC is hiring a Professional Staff Nurse (RN) to join our Oncology team at the Community Osteopathic campus in Harrisburg! This is a full time, days/nights rotating position with an every third weekend and every other holiday commitment. Final candidates will be placed on the appropriate level of the career ladder based on education and experience. Purpose: The Professional Staff Nurse is a Registered Nurse and a member of the care delivery team. The Professional Staff Nurse is responsible to set the standards for the level and quality of care.
