Job Details St. Francis Hospital Critical Care Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is a valuable team member. Primary responsibility is the management of critically ill and complex (multi-organ) patients in an intensive care setting. This setting includes the management of patients in the Cardiothoracic ICU (CTICU), Surgical ICU (SICU), Medical ICU (MICU) and Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU). The APP is under the direct supervision of an in-hospital 24/7 Critical Care board certified Intensivist program. The APP performs physical exams, collects and documents data, conducts approved diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, orders and schedules laboratory studies and professional consultations, prescribes appropriate interventions and medications, and provides direct patient care services in a specific ICU. Responsibilities: Provide direct clinical services for critically ill adult patients with multi-system disease /failure, according to established protocols and evidence-based clinical practice standards. Obtain patient health histories and complete physical examinations. Document findings, noting pertinent normal and abnormal findings. Order and interpret appropriate diagnostic and laboratory tests. Explain the necessity, preparation, nature and anticipated effects of procedure(s) to patients, patient's family, staff, and healthcare interdisciplinary team members. Perform approved therapeutic or diagnostic procedures based upon patient's clinical status. Formulate and implement a treatment plan for acute illness management in collaboration with the designated primary supervising physician and/or the intensivist. Utilize prescriptive privileges as allowed by NY licensure. Assess patient for change in status and institute appropriate interventions. Initiate necessary emergency interventions to stabilize patient. Participate in our Clinical Education and Science Simulation center for onboarding and strengthening of both didactic and procedural skill sets. Develop procedural skill sets and continued competency including placement of central lines, pulmonary artery catheters, hemodialysis catheters, trans-venous pacing wires, arterial lines, PICC lines and mid lines. Other complex management includes mechanical support devices such as Impella, Left Ventricular Assist Devices (LVAD), and Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO). Participate in and support accreditation, compliance, and regulatory activities of the organization. Identify educational needs of the patient / family and participate in teaching opportunities. Assess, plan, provide, and evaluate educational needs / programs our interdisciplinary healthcare teams and community. Precept APP students and other new healthcare team members. Role model professionalism through conduct, appearance, communication, mutual respect, leadership, ethical decision-making, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Demonstrate responsibility for professional practice through active participation in professional organizations and continuing education. Enhance the body of knowledge to the APP profession or other areas of specialization through exchange of ideas and knowledge in professional organizations, oral presentations, posters, research activities, and written publications. Description The (Per Diem) Clinical Nurse is a Registered Professional Nurse who provides safe, competent quality care based on nursing theory and research to a designated group of patients and significant others. Responsibilities Patient Care 1. Description The Assistant Nurse Manager Vascular Thoracic Night Shift position is a Registered Professional Nurse with broad knowledge and skills who assumes the role of a clinical leader in the daily functioning of the unit and oversight of quality patient care delivery, in conjunction with, or in the absence of, the Nurse Manager. Responsibilities Patient Care 1. Leads nursing practice using the tenets of the Professional Practice Model of Relationship Centered Care and the Care Delivery Model of Modified Primary Nursing for the promotion of the patient experience. 2. Description A nurse practitioner is certified under section 6910 of the New York State Education Law and licensed as a registered nurse. A nurse practitioner provides acute/primary health care in accordance with written policies approved by nursing and medical administration. Responsibilities 1. Develops and implements a collaborative practice agreement in the specific clinical area and performs a periodic review of the collaborative agreement. 2. Assesses the health status of patients/families by means of comprehensive health history and physical examination. 3. Initiates selected therapeutic and diagnostic procedures, consultations and laboratory examination, prescribes and alters medication regimens, interprets findings and alters plan of care according to collaborative practice agreement and protocols in designated area. 4. Description The Medical Assistant I provides clinical office support to physicians and surgeons and performs patient care and administrative duties necessary to deliver quality patient care. Focus of tasks include basic rooming of patient, EKGs, Point of Care Testing and EPIC documentation. Description The Medical Assistant II provides clinical office support to physicians and surgeons and performs patient care and administrative duties necessary to deliver quality patient care. Compensation The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides salary ranges that comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $27.8502 - $29.8773 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and operational need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits. 
Responsibilities: Responsible for seeing that approved standards of resident care are maintained throughout the facility and overseeing the quality of nursing care. Delegates responsibility for direct resident care activities to Head Nurse/Nurse in Charge of each unit. Responsible for supervising, evaluating, counseling, and coaching care members on assigned units. Responsible for identifying and resolving problems at the unit level. Keeps the Director of Nursing/Assistant Director of Nursing informed of resident’s status through verbal communication and written reports. Makes daily rounds, visits every floor of responsibility, and checks acutely ill residents, admissions, and follows up on residents. Performs periodic audit of charting and documentation. Assures proper execution of physician's orders. Deals effectively, professionally, and tactfully with resident and family concerns. Submits weekly and monthly reports on statistics, meetings, and other pertinent information. Attends continuing education classes, seminars, workshops to maintain professional competency. Qualifications: Current NY State Registered Nurse License 2 years of Nursing Administration experience required Education: Associate Degree BSN Preferred
