Responsibilities Purpose of Your Position Serves as a clinical assistant to the licensed nursing staff by performing nursing procedures, basic patient care tasks and other unit activities under the supervision of a licensed nurse Position Functions and Responsibilities Understands and promotes Elizabeth Seton Children’s Mission, Vision, and Core Values to ensure application with organizational policies and procedures. Attend appropriate meetings and in-services Functions as an adult role model for residents. Performs all assigned duties in accordance with the Center for Pediatrics and Rehabilitation’s policy and procedures Bath residents according to the Center for Pediatrics and Rehabilitation policy and Procedure. Inspect resident’s skin and promptly report any changes to the NCC. Carries out mouth care, hair care and as necessary trim finger and toe nails. Make two hourly checks on incontinent residents and wash and change as necessary. Encourages self-help measures as appropriate so that each child may reach his/her appropriate level of independence. Check and record urine and bowel movements. Ensure that assigned residents are appropriately prepared for school, clinic, recreation and hospital visits as scheduled and accompany/transport them as assigned. Ensure that bedfast residents are repositioned as directed by NCC but not less than two repositions per resident hourly. Performs restorative and rehabilitative activities as instructed and as directed by Plan of Care. Assists in applying safety restraints to residents when directed; Monitors residents in restraints, release restraints and documents according to policy and procedure Ensures that each resident who can use a call bell has one within reach and remind him/her to use it. Assists co-workers with lifting, positioning and other procedures as necessary. Be aware of facility policy on child abuse and/or neglect and promptly report any instances of abusive or inappropriate behaviors towards any resident to the NCC. Knows and follows The Center policy and procedure with regard to infection control including hand washing and types of isolation. Keep resident care area clean and free of clutter. Report any unsafe conditions immediately to NCC. Properly stores and safeguard residents’ clothing and reports too many or too few clothing and or toys to NCC. Feeds residents or teaches residents to feed themselves as appropriate. Ensure that hands are washed (child and caregivers) and that meal times are pleasant, dignified experiences Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent required Successful completion of NYS approved Nurse Assistant Certification Program Active CNA Certification on NYS Prometric Nurse Aide Registry required Experience Experience working with children. Overview About the Role The primary purpose of the Staff Nurse (Critical Care Transport) position is to provide and direct the critical care treatment and transport of patients in the hospital setting to the most appropriate facility. Provides pre-hospital Basic and Advanced Life Support (BLS, ALS) and hospital patient care. Overview About the Role: The primary purpose of the Case Management Coordinator position is to coordinate the patient’s progress through the system. He/she collaborates with physicians and clinical staff to ensure resource utilization is appropriate to the patient’s clinical and psychosocial needs and that it remains within covered benefits. The Case Management Coordinator seeks creative solutions to process and system issues, which create a barrier to the delivery of medically appropriate, cost-effective care. He/she is responsible to ensure compliance with regulatory standards related to level of care determinations, utilization and discharge planning. The Case Management Coordinator performs transitions of care and discharge planning, and supports the mission of University Hospital. Responsibilities The OB Scrub Technician provides direct care to obstetrical/neonatal patient under the direct supervision of a licensed RN. The OB Scrub Technician performs the role of surgical scrub for obstetrically related surgical procedures. Maintains aseptic environment during set-up for surgery or delivery and throughout surgical procedures. Responsible for maintaining and stocking supplies and equipment throughout the Labor and Delivery Suite, including Recovery and Operating Rooms. Assists with perioperative care as outlined in the policy and procedure manuals. Assist with deliveries, as necessary. Assists with other aspects of unit operations as assigned. Qualifications Graduate from an accredited Surgical Technician Program. Certified as a Certified Surgical Technician (CST) by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting or equivalent required. AHA CPR required. One (1) year of related experience preferred. Must maintain a neat, clean, professional appearance. Must have understanding, patience, and tact in dealing with physicians and fellow workers. Must pay attention to detail. Must have excellent hand-eye coordination. Must be self-motivated and work in an efficient and effective manner. Must work in air-conditioned environment with temperature of 65-73 degrees and humidity of 45-55%. When assigned to pediatric cases, temperature may be up to 85-90 degrees F. Must wear hospital provided scrub attire while on duty. Potential for cuts, bruises, muscle strains and exposure to contagious disease via and body fluids. Potential for exposure to anesthesia waste gases, ethylene oxide, harsh disinfectants, sterilizing agents, high steam pressure agents and radiation.
