Position Purpose This position provides optimal patient care utilizing knowledge and skills within the context of the nursing process. The incumbent is accountable for individualized patient outcomes over an entire episode of care. The incumbent provides comprehensive nursing services to adolescent, adult and geriatric patients, including their families/caregivers. Nature and Scope This position is challenged to diagnose and treat human responses to health problems. Responsibilities Northwest Specialty Hospital , an extension of Northern Nevada Medical Center, brings expanded services to a new building located at 6225 Sharlands Ave. in Northwest Reno. The facility will offer acute rehabilitation and adult behavioral health services. Position Purpose This position performs those duties for the Facility Medical Director and staff providers, utilizing knowledge and skill within the context of the nursing process and the theory of human caring. This position provides the necessary care to assist the patient to achieve and maintain health by the application of the nursing process in accordance with the Physician Service policies and procedures and Nevada State Board of Nursing. Position Purpose The Nurse Navigator is accountable for coordination of care and educational support to patients. This nurse also assists the department’s leadership in coordination and conducting specific programs that support clinical excellence.
