The Comprehensive Medical Rehabilitation Unit (C.M.R.U.) is an 18 bed Joint Commission Accredited (J.C.A.H.O.) in- patient unit located on the second floor of Christian Hospital. Patients admitted are adult through geriatric and require intensive rehabilitation therapy to include at least two of the following modalities: speech, occupational, and physical therapies. Diagnoses include but are not limited to Cerebral Vascular Accidents (C.V.A.), complicated orthopedic problems, neurological/neuromuscular disorders, polyarthritis, amputation, spinal cord injury, multiple trauma, and traumatic brain injury. Preferred Qualifications Role Purpose Coordinates patient care, personnel management, maintenance of equipment, equipment purchased, and statistical accumulation. Responsibilities Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: hires, trains, assigns work, manages & evaluates performance, conducts professional development plans. Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership. May participate in the development of departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets and having direct responsibility for adhering to those goals. This includes responding to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals. Provides and oversees patient care according to planned interventions with regard to their age and developmental needs to attain the patient's optimal level of wellness and documents according to policy. Creates and ensures implementation of a collaborative plan of care based on assessment, diagnosis and medical treatment. May support the review of staff hours worked vs scheduled hours and determine appropriate disposition if variation exists. Perform and approve daily payroll updates. Reconcile time cards, bonus tracking and coding approval. Prepare, coordinate and execute all staff communications; prepare huddle agendas and lead meeting. Determine staffing needs; make nursing assignments as well as assign overtime. Recommend effective annual increases. Interview staff for open positions; evaluate and conduct performance reviews as assigned; draft and issue corrective actions/coaching; follow up regarding any disciplinary action to determine compliance. Responsible for staff productivity and the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership. : Position Summary Medication Technicians are an essential part of our wellness team by administering medications to residents in a safe, accurate, and timely manner under the supervision of a licensed nurse and general direction of the Wellness Director. Hiring for day shift and night shift. Duties/Responsibilities: Prepare and administer medications as allowed by state regulation to residents following established policies and procedures. Accurately complete required documentation of medication administration at time-of-service delivery. Verifies identity of resident receiving medication and records name of drug, dosage, route, and time of administration on specified forms or records. Review MARs immediately after administration of a medication and prior to end of shift to ensure documentation is complete and accurate. Notify supervisor when making the decision not to administer a medication as ordered. Communicate effectively at the end of shift relaying relevant and pertinent information regarding resident care, concerns, changes, and the like to oncoming/outgoing personnel. Maintain security of medication cart and narcotic keys during entire shift. Conduct narcotic count at the beginning and end of every shift in accordance with company policy and procedure. Observe residents and reports changes in resident’s psychosocial and physical condition as well as any concerns, e.g., skin breakdown, rash, behavioral changes, speech change, change in appearance, etc., to Wellness Director. Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly environment for residents. Ensure resident rooms are clean and tidy throughout each day and follows scheduled housekeeping tasks such as laundry as assigned. Assist residents with activities of daily living, to include ambulation, transferring, showering, personal hygiene, incontinence care, feeding, reminders, and supervision according to the individual plan of care. Gathering, engaging, and assisting residents in activities, conducting activities in groups or one-on-one with residents as requested. Encouraging residents to socialize and participate in planned activities and develop friendships with other residents. Communicates professionally with physicians and third-party specialists, such as homecare providers, lab providers and hospice professionals.
