Duties Description The candidate will clinically oversee a cluster of nurses and be responsible for multiple sites and may function as a RN1 as needed. Job Description The Nursing Department on the Manhattan campus is seeking a full time Nurse Manager to join our team. Work schedule is day shift on weekdays , with availability to work on weekends every 4th week of the month. This position is entitled to an Incentive bonus of $ 5000, which is distributed as follows: End of 6 months of initial employment - $ 2500 End of 1 year employment- $ 2500 The Nurse Manager for Sub-Acute floors is responsible for assuring approved quality standards of care and compliance with established policies and procedures in the provision of resident/client care. Duties And Responsibilities Directs and supervises the delivery of nursing care within an assigned unit. Delegates the responsibility for direct resident care to the appropriate nursing staff member. Monitors care to assure care is provided as directed by the resident plan of care. Effectively communicates resident and unit needs to Nursing Administration. Utilizes a process of data collection, assessment and care planning to meet the needs of resident.Facilitates communication and problem solving with other disciplines to develop a plan of care which will address these goals. Responsible for assuring the Resident Care Plan is revised as necessary to reflect the current needs of the resident. Participates with Nursing Administration in meeting clinical and budget goals. Evaluates staff assigned to her/his assigned unit to determine staff competencies and/or the need for education. Assists, as appropriate in the education of staff. Participates in the counseling and discipline of staff. Maintains personal competencies to assure the ability to provide resident care,evaluate the competencies of staff assigned to his/her unit and to serve as a role model for unit staff. Communicates resident needs, strengths and conditions to appropriate staff members through unit conferences and in written format. Requirements Skills & Requirements Valid Registered Nurse license in New York State. Bachelors in Nursing is strongly preferred. A minimum of four years experience as a Nursing Manager/Supervisor and/or Charge Nurse in long term care setting/sub-acute settings is required . Demonstrated nursing and management leadership skills are required.
