The Nursing Assistant position involves delivering clinical nursing services to patients. The Nursing Assistant functions under the supervision of a licensed nurse or therapist, providing care that does not require the judgment and skills of a licensed professional. After competency verification, the nursing assistant may deliver patient care services to the infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations. The care may include, but is not limited to, the following: bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, ambulating, transferring, feeding, observing, and reporting the general well-being of the person(s) to whom they are providing care. Coordinates clerical duties of a diverse and confidential nature to maintain the efficiency of patient care areas. Department team members are authorized to have limited access to secured medication rooms to perform duties and responsibilities as defined in this job description. Any staff member requiring limited access to secured medication rooms must have a fully completed and signed Medication Security Agreement for Non-Licensed Personnel form on file and available upon request. Assist with minor medical/surgical procedures in the practice setting. Performance of venipuncture for the purpose of blood and to monitor the patient’s condition before, during and after the withdrawal of blood. Transport patients using wheelchair or stretcher within offices and to/from vehicles. Assist those patients requiring help with ambulation. Identify the need for patient education and advise patients on their treatment plan. Demonstrate the ability to recognize abnormal lab results. Document treatment records for each patient. Immediately report any observed changes in condition or behavior of patients and documents any care given in an acceptable medical legal fashion. Immediately reports any unusual incidents. Set up for suturing and procedures, using sterile technique; dismantles procedure set, caring for soiled instruments safely and correctly. Maintains competency in specialized testing for Occupational Health (Hearing Booth, Fit testing, Titmus, PFT, Ishahara, Drug screen collections, Breath Alcohol Testing, DS Hair Collections and any other required testing.)Maintain patient confidentiality; comply with HIPAA and compliance guidelines established for the practice. Ensure compliance with Joint Commission regulations and other safety requirements; this includes disposal of used sharps and contaminated materials, as well as, safe storage of medications. Re-order supplies as required and within budgetary limitations. Maintain work station cleanliness and restock linen and supplies to exam rooms; provides general cleaning, including emptying trash, straightening waiting area, etc. Washes and changes stretcher or exam table linen and empties dirty laundry. Demonstrate the ability to reflect knowledge of current professional practice standards, laws and regulations, evaluate their own nursing practice in relation to professional practice standards, relevant statutes and regulations. Engage in an annual self-assessment, identifying areas of strength and areas requiring professional development Seek and reflect on constructive feedback from other members of the healthcare team. Acts to achieve performance goals. Acquire and maintain current knowledge and competency in nursing care. Job Description Nemours Children's Health is seeking an experienced Pediatric Advanced Practice Provider (1.0 FTE) for our Dover, Delaware office! Extended hours are required (early morning or early evening). Occasional weekend coverage. At Nemours Children's Health, we see patients for primary care medical needs like well-child checkups, sick-child care and immunizations. Key Responsibilities Comprehensive patient assessments including history and physical examinations Formulating assessment and treatment plans of pediatric patients Communicating with physicians about changes in patient’s clinical condition Educating parents/caregivers on patient condition and plan of care Triaging and responding to phone calls from patient families Accurately recording patient information in the electronic medical record The NP must be able to work independently as well as part of multidisciplinary team. PA-C- Active unrestriced Delaware Physician Assistance license or compact state, National Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants; DE Prescriptive Authority; DE Federal DEA; BLS from the American Heart Association. Three years of related clinical experience required Excellent written, phone, and interpersonal communication skills required.
