This unit is 20 beds with an additional 5 bed Rehab unit. They treat a wide range of neurological disorders and diagnoses including Neuro Psych patients, Neuro Surgical cases, general Medical Surgery patients, and cases of Chronic Heart Failure. We are seeking compassionate individuals who are passionate about delivering high-quality care and are ready to be a part of a dynamic and fulfilling work environment. The weekend program includes an additional $15 per hour if you work every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday any time between 7:00 a.m. Friday and 7:00 a.m. Monday. Job Summary: Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization. Job Responsibilities and Requirements: PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Uses standards of medical-surgical nursing practice to increase the quality of care and quality of life for the patient, family, and significant other(s) by systematically evaluating the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice. OVERVIEW Provides patient-centered nursing care in a clinical setting while supporting Mercyhealth’s mission and values. Schedule may include variable shifts, weekends, holidays, and on-call hours. May float to other units based on staffing needs and clinical competency. Performs other duties as assigned. Schedule : 30 hours per week Shift : Nights Location : Mercyhealth Hospital and Trauma Center, Janesville, WI Pay Range: $34.45 - $51.68 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Utilizes the nursing process and collaborates with interdisciplinary team members in caring for patients. Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques, policies and procedures, standards of care, and State laws practice act. Documents according to standards of care. Performs assessments, planning, intervention, and evaluation of care. Develops, initiates, and executes a patient plan of care according to the individualized needs of the patient, as prescribed by Physician and or clinic policy including patient and family instruction. Participates in department or unit performance improvement activities, may include shared governance. Utilizes clinical expertise and guidance to other units’ departments in support of the patient’s longitudinal plan of care. Utilizes critical thinking regarding patient safety and patient experience and appropriately escalates to the appropriate chain of command. Participates in the professional nursing continuum process, unit practice activities and decisions and peer review process. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE Graduate of an accredited nursing program. ADN required upon hire, BSN preferred. May require specific years of applicable experience to qualify (per department guidelines) CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE Licensed as an RN in state of practice Approved CPR/BLS certification required within 90 days Other certification(s) per unit requirements.
