Our 4 East Staff members also support dialysis patients with their pre and post-dialysis care. About the Job: Clinical Assistants (LNAs) are a combination of Health Unit Coordinators and Licensed Nursing Assistants. As a member of the Patient Care Services team, Clinical Assistants support in patient care and coordinate administrative functions of assigned patient care areas and facilitate patient flow throughout the department. The Oncology Registered Nurse is focused on patient assessment, patient education, the coordination of care, administration of therapy, symptom management and supportive care for the Oncology and Hematology patients at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. The Registered Nurse cares for individuals receiving therapy for oncologic and hematologic problems. Essential Duties : To provide exceptional care to all residents including but not limited to: Under the direction of the Unit Manager, manages the nurse desk and clinical staff on the unit Obtain report from nurse being relieved and records sufficient information to implement appropriate follow up action as necessary Provides report to nurse coming on duty, including sufficient information for follow-up action if necessary Conducts patient rounds, reporting problems to nursing supervisor and initiating corrective action Administers and documents medication, enteral nutrition and treatment per physician order and accurately records all care provided and observations daily Performs comprehensive assessments of each resident on unit Develops care plan based on each resident's assessment Obtains physician orders and any revisions for all treatment and medications needed Assesses on a weekly basis the skin condition, stage, size, site, depth, color, drainage and odor of condition May conduct staff meetings; coordinate services rendered by nursing personnel with those rendered by personnel of other departments.
