The Medical Assistant (MA) is responsible for delivering a consistent Perfect Visit experience in ZoomCare clinics, through outstanding customer service and attention to clinical detail. The Medical Assistant is responsible for scheduling in person and telehealth appointments, updating medical records, checking patients in and out for appointments, performing blood draws, processing labs and maintaining inventory . SCHEDULE AND TRAINING Location: ZoomCare Bridgeport Village Clinic Schedule: Wednesday - Saturday Clinic positions require you to attend 2-3 weeks of training. The first week will be at your primary location and partially remote, the second and third weeks include traveling to multiple clinics in the area. Depending on the position and associated requirements, there may be additional mandatory training requirements that are outside of your scheduled shift ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Check patients in and out, maintain demographic and insurance information, process payments, and provide exceptional customer service by helping patients understand their insurance costs and navigate their ZoomCare medical record. Interview patients, record medical history, take vital signs, and perform blood draws, finger sticks, and electrocardiograms (EKGs) according to medical standards. Apply splints and dressings and facilitate simple wound management under provider orders. Obtain, process and document specimen results, maintaining laboratory standards and completing proficiency testing to ensure certification compliance. Assist providers during exams and procedures, administer medications and vaccines (WA employees), and deliver emergency care as needed. Manage clinic inventory, ordering and storing supplies, and maintain basic medical equipment. Collaborate with the team to improve patient experience, offering feedback and creative solutions for enhanced care delivery. Ensure clinic cleanliness and adherence to safety guidelines, supporting overall clinic operations and patient care. WA employees only: administer medication and vaccines as directed by a provider. Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma or GED equivalent, required. Bachelor’s degree, preferred. 1+ years of Medical Assistant experience. Including rooming, vitals, etc. Strong verbal, written, interpersonal, and communication skills. Able to maintain patient privacy and confidentiality. Proficient in Google Suite, Microsoft Office, AthenaOne and other relevant software applications. Excel in a fast-paced work environment, thriving under pressure and time constraints. Current BLS for Healthcare Providers certification from a recognized and reputable organization (e.g., American Heart Association, Red Cross) or the ability to obtain one within 1 month of hire. Vaccinated against COVID-19, Hepatitis B., MMR, PPD, Varicella (Chickenpox), and TD/TDAP. WA: Must be able to obtain a Medical Assistant- Phlebotomist license within 6 months of hire, and able to complete the ZoomCare accelerated phlebotomy course. Preferred: NCMA, AAMA, CCMA, (NHA, AMA) OR: Must be able to obtain a phlebotomy license within 6 months of hire; equivalent licensure or training experience, preferred. WA: Must have a Medical Assistant- Registered license. Responsibilities Essential duties and Responsibilities: Provides general nursing care to patients, to include: Screen patients for appropriate information. Administers treatments such as wound care, bladder scans, void trials, etc. in accordance with nursing standards. Assists with the preparation of equipment and aids physician during examination and procedures. Observes, records, and reports patient’s condition and reaction to drugs and treatments to providers. Orders/prescribes medications as directed by provider. Provides patient education, to include pre/post operative patient education on procedures, medications, and recovery expectations. Recognizes when escalation is required to RN to maintain compliance with nurse practice act and state regulations for LPNs. Records patient data prior to each physician visit, including but not limited to, vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and current medication reconciliation. Performs EKG and oximetry readings as requested by the provider. Send referrals, place orders, and request medical records as outlined by the provider. Maintain patient files, records, and other information. Initiate IV fluids and IV therapeutic medications in accordance with LPN/LVN state nurse practice act. Participates in cross-training programs to develop skills across multiple areas of the practice and provide support where needed. Demonstrates reliability and punctuality by consistently showing up on time and maintaining dependable attendance to support team operations and organizational goals. Other duties as assigned. Job Summary: Provides assistance to the surgical team during the intra-operative phase of surgical care for the Northwest Surgical Services region. Works in collaboration with the surgeon and health care team in the performance of surgical procedures, including assessment, planning, directing, providing and evaluating advanced nursing care. All RNFAs will participate in a regional on-call rotation to provide surgical assistance for elective, emergent and urgent surgical cases. Essential Responsibilities: Representative Functions or Duties: Practice standards of performance: Pre-operative. Performs pre-operative assessment and evaluation. Collaborates with the surgical team on plan of care. Intra-operative: Provides knowledge based technical assistance to the surgeon during the operative procedure according to AORN standards, licensure, state regulation and facility/practice protocols, including: Using instruments and medical devices.
