Overview The staff RN is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated time frame and provides care to these patients via therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, the therapeutic environments, treatment and modalities and interdisciplinary collaboration. Responsibilities Applies appropriate theory as a basis for decisions regarding nursing practice. The RN shall, for their patient, collaborate in the formulation of the overall plan of care for the patient, as evidenced by written documentation. Identifies problems specific to biophysical, cognitive, developmental, emotional, socio-cultural, and spiritual needs. Qualifications Current California RN License. Current CPR and ACLS certifications required. Completion of Critical Care and Basic Dysrhythmia course if less than 2 years experience. 2 Years ICU experience preferred. Current NIHSS certification, or within 90 days of employment. 
Overview As a member of the health care team responsible for providing basic nursing care to patients under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team or unit. Responsibilities Assists patients with activities of daily living and helps to promote a safe, comfortable environment that fosters the physiological and psychosocial well-being of the patient. Notifies R.N. and/or L.V.N. of relevant changes in the patient’s condition including, but not limited to changes in V.S., level of consciousness and/or pain, breathing pattern, drainage, amount of bleeding, mood, or increase and decrease in capabilities/limitations. Qualifications Recent experience in an acute care setting preferred. Graduate from high school or its equivalent. Current CA C.N.A certification, BLS and MAB.

Overview The RN Charge Nurse will be responsible for coordinating the nursing care on their shift. The Charge Nurse will be responsible for overseeing the unit. Focus will be on providing a safe, effective environment for patients and staff through increased communication and customer service. Responsibilities Monitors and coordinates the daily patient care activities of the unit; makes daily rounds; assigns staff and patients to ensure full coverage of patient care needs at all times for the assigned shift. Qualifications Minimum 2 years experience in Medical Surgical. Two to five years experience in nursing management. Current CA Registered Nurse license. Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS certifications are required. NIHSS certification is required within 90 days of employment.
