Job Description The Medical Coordinator is responsible for delivering high quality medical care and influencing positive outcomes for patients experiencing homelessness in the recuperative care setting. We have many schedules available for this role, including weekends and nights. The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00 per hour, depending on experience . This position also qualifies for $1.50 swing shift differential and $3 graveyard shift differential. Schedule is 3pm-11:30pm, Tues-Sat. Responsibilities Client Care: Perform initial intake to ensure that an appropriate care plan is established based on discharge information from the hospital or primary care notes Assess health status of patient upon arrival by conducting head to toe assessment and checking vitals Determine the patient’s insurance status, make follow up appointments with patient’s providers and reviewing medication list Establish and maintain a care plan Set weekly goals for patient to complete to assist with medical or social reintegration, verify goal completion, and assess medical needs. Perform routine diagnostic tests, following established protocols. Perform skin tests. Assist as member of surgical team. Assist physicians with endotrachael intubations. Assists physician in obtaining tissue specimens and biopsies. Assist with proctological procedures (i.e. Sigmoidoscopies.) Restrain or support patients during procedures. Perform EKGs (electrocardiograms.) Assist patients with ambulation and exercises, following established protocols Administer topical or aerosol medication as ordered. Administer medications as prescribed, within scope of practice. Transportation: Transport patients to/from designated areas. Route specimens to laboratory. Transport laboratory specimens, medical records, laboratory supplies and materials. Transport office supplies and materials, patient related supplies and materials. Transport equipment, and procedures trays. Administrative/Clerical/Record Keeping: Request charts/medical records. Schedule, cancel and reschedule patient appointments. Initiate follow up appointments with patients. Check in patients/members. Prepare outgoing mail. Locate personnel by paging system or beeper. Provide patient information to family members, following patient confidentiality guidelines. Record and send Faxs. Screen patient calls and take messages for providers. Maintain department logs. The Surgical Technologist assumes responsibility and accountability for the preparation of operating rooms for surgery, using appropriate techniques, performs a variety of technical duties to assist patients with surgery, maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives and safety standards. The Surgical Tech is responsible for pulling cases completely and providing all equipment for the cases. Cooperates with other personnel to achieve department objectives and follows infection control policies. Maintains aseptic techniques, actively monitors situations which could lead to breaches in aseptic technique. Assists in maintaining correct count of instruments, sutures and sponges. Provides comfort and support for pre-operative patients by demonstrating sensitivity to patients care and privacy. Identifies and cares for specimens. Notifies appropriate personnel of equipment malfunctions and repairs as needed. Assists in clearing OR suites. May handle human blood and other potentially infectious and/or hazardous materials, harmful elements. Has the collaborative responsibility for the treatment and care of the patient from pediatrics through geriatrics. This position is supervised by the Technical Coordinator and reports to the Manager/Director of Perioperative Services. Requirements : Previous experience as a Surgical Technician Current BLS certification. Completion of course for surgical technicians preferred. Has full command of the English language (verbal and written).
