Obtains supplies for individual cases and ensures all appropriate needs of the Cardiovascular Laboratory team are met. Monitors physiologic and hemodynamic data, as related to diagnostic and/or therapeutic procedures performed in the cardiovascular lab. Monitors and records patients condition continuously while in the Cardiovascular lab. Participates in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement activities. Qualifications Education and Work Experience Bachelor Degree in Nursing (BSN); preferred. Active state Registered Nursing (RN) License; required. Current BCLS (AHA), ACLS certificate upon hire and maintain current; required. One (1) year clinical experience in a Cardiovascular Lab doing cardiac work or in a Critical Care area; required. Nurse Practitioner (APRN) Key Responsibilities: Assess, manages, prescribes, and evaluates appropriate therapeutic and pharmacological interventions for common illnesses according to standards of practice. Consults or makes referral to primary care physician, other health care professionals or agencies when a situation is beyond their level of expertise or when additional services are needed to coordinate their health care. Nurse Practitioner (APRN) Education and Experience Requirements: 3 years experience of Nurse Practitioner experience required. If licensed after 1999 must have Master’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program required. American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) Certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health-NP Required Must have a nationally recognized certification to practice. Current Federal DEA and State Controlled Substance License required. Current Connecticut State RN/APRN Licensure. Nurse Practitioner (APRN) Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ability to discriminate between normal and abnormal findings in the history and physical exam in order to establish a diagnosis. Ability to assess severity of patient’s illness and establish need/time for patient's evaluation. Ability to plan and care for patient’s identified problem including medication, diet, therapeutic procedures, etc. Ability to consult with other health team members regarding proposed treatment guidelines. Ability to form therapeutic relationships with patients.
