Purpose of Position: Emergency Services Assistant Facilitates patient flow and customer satisfaction as the front-line support staff of the Emergency Department ambulatory entrance. Patient Care Tech As a member of the patient care team; performs a variety of technical and other directed care functions with the patient and family as delegated by the Registered Nurse. Performs Unit specific patient care as directed by RN Intake & output (I&O excluding IV therapy) Post-Mortem Care; i.e; washes and dresses bodies of deceased persons 12 Lead EKG’s Set up Holter monitoring for patients based on physician order, if needed. Participates in/performs patient rounding (based on acuity) on patients Provides direct observation (sitter/1:1) as necessary based on department need Collects samples, such as urine, blood, and sputum, from patients for testing and performs routine laboratory tests on samples. Performs Glucoscans when required. May be required to retrieve blood products from the Blood Bank. Cleans equipment and supplies as needed during/after patient care process. Performs dressing care, and wound care by assisting in the process of a normal saline irrigation of minor wounds (lacerations and/or abrasions). Responsibilities: Meet the nursing and rehabilitation needs of each resident Participate in planning and following current resident care plan on all residents under your care Complete resident assignments effectively and promptly Observe changes in resident conditions and promptly report them Document accurately and completely Meet personal grooming needs for each resident Promptly answer call lights and assure that all are placed within reach of the resident Maintain clean and orderly resident care areas Identify residents correctly and maintain confidentiality Requirements: Must possess an active and unencumbered CNA license in Massachusetts, or be in the process of obtaining one New graduates welcome!
