Appropriately notify/inform supervisory staff.Perform administrative duties such as completing 30 day summaries and edits as necessary.Encourage attending physicians to review treatment plans, record and sign their orders, progress notes, etc., in accordance with established policies.Receive telephone orders from physicians and record on the Physician’s Order Form.Accurately transcribe physician’s orders to resident charts, Kardex, medication cards, treatment/care plans, as required.Chart nurse’s notes in an informative and descriptive manner that reflects the care provided to the resident, as well as the resident’s response to the care. Report all discrepancies noted concerning physician’s orders, diet, charting error, etc., to the Nursing Supervisor.Sign and date all entries made in the resident’s medical record.Ensure that an adequate supply of medications is on hand to meet the nursing needs of the residents. Properly order medications in a timely fashion per pharmacy guidelines.Ensure that the narcotic records are accurate for your shift. Notify the Nurse Supervisor of all drug and narcotic discrepancies noted on your shift.Review MAR for completeness of information, accuracy in the transcription of the physician’s order and necessary initials to indicate doses administered.Dispose of drugs and narcotics as required and in accordance with established procedures.Responds to complaints and grievances made by family or responsible parties. Report to nursing supervisor as necessary. Follow Seven Hills at Groton grievance policy.Participate in the orientation of new residents/family members to the facility.Make rounds with physicians and actively participate in planning care for assigned Residents.Arrange for diagnostic and therapeutic services, as ordered by the physician, and in accordance with our established procedures.Consult with the resident’s physician Qualifications Licensure to practice as an LPN in Massachusetts is required. Prefer experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant if new graduate.
