Our patient population ranges from young adults to older adults, and we care for two specialty groups: NucRad patients, who receive IV nuclear medicine treatments for ocular melanoma and Brachy patients, who receive pinpointed radiation therapy and typically have a short length of stay. Overall, our patients are those undergoing treatment who’ve experienced a setback and need additional support. This environment offers a great opportunity to strengthen your assessment skills, as we encounter all organ systems—not just single‑system disease processes.
