Overview Job Duties An Advanced Practice Provider V (APP V) is a direct patient care provider licensed in the State of Florida and/or Georgia and provides medical services to patients as defined by their scope of practice and under the supervision of a physician licensed to practice medicine in the State of Florida/Georgia. Responsibilities Essential Functions • Endoscopic saphenous vein harvesting GSV, open vein harvest, GSV and LSV, radial artery harvest, open and endoscopically, open femoral artery/vein cannulation for bypass. • Invasive monitoring and placement of arterial and central venous lines, insertion and removal of thoracostomy tubes, insertion of central lines, including Swan-Ganz catheters, TLC, insertion and removal of IABP, removal of temporary pacer wires, insertion of arterial lines, NG/OG tube insertion, insertion of foley catheters, 1st assistant techniques. • Assesses patient health status including state of wellness, compliance with care plan and determines appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. May perform those routine medical treatments and diagnostic procedures for which they are qualified to perform by training and which fall within the normal scope of practice of the supervising physician. • Performance of histories and physical exams, pre and postoperative patient care, critical care, daily progress notes, obtain surgical consent, patient education, and discharge summaries. • Patient care in ICU including advanced knowledge of hemodynamic management, ventilators, and artificial cardiac devices. • First assist in surgery in all cardiac, thoracic and vascular procedures. Nurse Practitioner

Job Description The Nurse Practitioner 2 will work as part of a Team at the Mission Bay and Mt Zion locations within the UCSF Department of Radiation Oncology in a multidisciplinary environment working with Radiation Oncologists, Residents, Registered Nurses, Medical Physicists, Radiation Therapists, Dieticians, and Social Workers in collaboration with referring medical oncologists and surgeons. The NPII reports to and is managed by an APP Manager while working under the supervision of Faculty/Attending Providers. The patient populations may vary but will focus primarily on Solid Tumor cancers. The incumbent will provide care to patients including taking histories; conducting physical exams; document findings and actions as indicated, complex wound care within the department and assist with planning of the course of patients’ treatments for adult populations. The NPII will perform site-specific patient teaching; prepare patients for simulation; may assist with contouring structures for treatment planning; medicate patients as needed; order medications for symptom relief; assist in managing patients in follow-up; and address quality of life issues not limited to skin/wound care, speech/swallowing, adequate nutritional intake; and psycho-social issues. In addition, the NPII will answer patient phone calls, emails, My Chart messages, questions and perform other duties as required such as attending tumor boards, participate in department, and medical center committees as needed.
