Supports interdisciplinary collaboration to ensure continuous quality care and to promote positive health outcomes with a focus on good customer service and patient satisfaction. 5. Stays abreast of the latest developments, advancements and trends in the practice field by attending seminars/workshops, reading professional journals, actively participating in professional organizations. Participates in PHHS education activities. 6. Maintains and implements knowledge of all applicable rules, regulations, policies, laws, and guidelines that impact the respective APP fields. Develops effective internal controls that promote adherence to applicable state/federal laws, and the program requirements of accreditation agencies and federal, state, and private health plans. Responsibilities As part of our continued growth as a national medical group, we have excellent opportunities in our Dallas North practice for neonatal nurse practitioners who bring solid clinical expertise and are eager to grow professionally in a team environment. Our practice includes a diverse group of neonatologists, NNPs, PNPs and newborn hospitalists who provide a full range of neonatal care and rotate through several Level II - Level IV NICUs. Responsibilities include a combination of in-house shifts at the Level III – IV units and call shifts from home at the lower-level units where there are in-house neonatal nurse practitioners 24/7. We provide opportunities to rotate through large high-risk maternal hospitals delivering the most medically fragile infants in the metroplex – including micro-preemies, gastroschisis, complex heart lesions, complex congenital malformations, neurosurgical cases and more. Coordination of prenatal care with established area MFM groups Medical City Children’s Hospital, our largest Level IV 108-bed NICU, is a full-service children’s hospital with a Level IV Maternal designation providing comprehensive care for expecting mothers, with its own maternal and pediatric/neonatal transport team able to transport on ground, helicopter, or airplane. An in-house Maternal Fetal Institute provides customized navigation of care including abdominal wall surgery, craniofacial surgery, neurological surgery and orthopedic surgery. Integrated services from our Pediatrix family of sub-specialists including pediatric surgeons, maternal-fetal medicine physicians, and developmental pediatricians. How you make a difference The Nurse Practitioner (NP) under the supervision of the Site Medical Director and other site Physicians, offers a comprehensive range of medical services to incarcerated patients in accordance with established policy and state guidelines. They ensure necessary documentation of services is provided to the Site Medical Director or designee to monitor the provision of clinical services. Additionally, they communicate scheduling changes to the Medical Director and H.S.A. and make arrangements for coverage of medical services if unavailable for an extended period of time. Key Responsibilities Conducts routine and emergency medical care for inmates, including chronic care clinics, infirmary rounds, and emergency treatment on-site. Adheres to established policies and procedures for medical care, including documentation in SOAP format, adherence to formulary regimens, and utilizing available in-house resources for treatment. Assumes responsibility and accountability for individual judgments and actions, while also reporting any concerns or questions to the Medical Director or Health Services Administrator. Maintains patient confidentiality and privacy in accordance with accepted practices for incarcerated individuals. Provides input into facility mandatory committees as requested. Qualifications & Requirements Education A graduate of an accredited school of nursing An advanced degree in an approved and accredited Nurse Practitioner program. Experience Prior medical/surgical and/or emergency/trauma experience and corrections experience is preferred. Must have the patience and tact to deal with the inmate patient population and ability to work effectively in the corrections environment. Scheduling flexibility is also required to be able to rotate hours and shifts, if needed, and to be called during emergency situations to provide coverage. Licenses/Certifications Must have and maintain current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner within the state of employment. Must have and maintain current CPR certification.
