Job Summary The Simmons Comprehensive Cancer Center (SCCC), a National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center affiliated with UT Southwestern Medical Center, is seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our Solid Tumor team. The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant serves as a key clinical provider within a highly specialized, multidisciplinary team, working in close collaboration with physicians, pharmacists, nurses, and support staff. The CUH Inpatient Solid Tumor APP focuses on the hospital-based care of patients with known and unknown oncologic disease. They are key members of a multidisciplinary team that includes physicians, pharmacists, nurses, and allied health care providers. Advanced Practice Provider care includes History and Physicals, admissions, discharges, interpreting laboratory values, radiograph interpretation and other diagnostics, care of research patients, coordination of care, progress notes, family and patient education, referrals, and prescription of medications both inpatient and outpatient. Overview The official job title for this position at PPGT is “Clinician”. The Clinician provides comprehensive reproductive healthcare services to patients at Planned Parenthood of Greater Texas (PPGT). Works as part of the Health Services team in collaboration with Health Services and other team members to meet the clinical needs of patients as outlined in affiliate protocols. Orders, interprets, and records results of clinical tests and consults with supervising physicians as needed. Prescribes medications and makes recommendations for other forms of treatment, including contraception. The Clinician is part of the medical services team providing sexual and reproductive healthcare as outlined in affiliate protocols. Provides services by telehealth and/or in-person visits including: history review, health education, physical exam, counseling, diagnosis, and treatment according to protocols. Job Summary The NST APP assists leads the enteral access team which manages consults for enteral access placement to recommend and coordinate placement for long term enteral access - this includes DHT, surgical g tubes, g-j tubes, and coordination of care with other enteral access teams. (IR, GI) Conducts and documents comprehensive initial and ongoing physical examinations based on age and diagnosis, including psychological status. The NST APP will assist with minor inpatient and outpatient procedures including tube care, DHT placement, and g-tube exchanges. Provides relevant management, referrals, counseling, and education to patients, families, and caregivers related to current care and preventive health measures. Facilitates/participates in quality related initiatives and/or clinical research protocols through planned group processes, workshops, seminars, and staff meetings, to improve clinical and system practice performance. Graduate education and related Texas Board of Nursing authorization must be consistent with clinical practice area and patient population.
