Job Description Summary The APP (physician assistant/nurse practitioner) will participate in the management of primarily outpatient care for Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery patients under the care of the supervising physicians in the Voice & Swallowing Division. The APP will have independent clinics as well as assist attending physicians in the clinic by evaluating new and follow-up patients, performing histories and physical exams, ordering of ancillary tests, patient education, phone calls for prescriptions/lab results and coordination of care. The APP will perform as liaison among inpatient and outpatient nurses, nurse coordinators and physicians to provide the highest level of patient care. They will serve as a dedicated health care professional who will review test results and educate patients on their treatment plan. In addition, the APP will become the easily identifiable expert from the service who will return any patient telephone calls and answer their questions in a timely manner. This PA/NP position will work primarily at our Mount Pleasant location at the MUSC Health Evelyn Trammell Institute for Voice and Swallowing clinic.
