Responsibilities The team consists of 16 neonatal physicians, 3 pediatricians and 12 NNPs who provide care to patients in the Tampa Bay market.. St. Joseph’s Women’s Hospital in Tampa has a 76-bed Level-IV NICU with over 1000 NICU admissions per year and approximately 5000 births annually. Neonatal coverage extends to Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater, a Level-II NICU with 10 beds and at Mease Countryside in Safety Harbor, a Level-III NICU with 12 beds, and St. Joseph’s South Hospital, a Level-II NICU with 11 beds In addition, the group provides 24 hour in-house delivery room and newborn coverage at all four hospitals The neonatologists provide in-house call at St. Joseph's Women's Hospital Level-IV NICU, and a combination of in-house and back-up call from home for the other three NICUs with either a Neo or NNP providing night coverage. A combination of neonatologists and pediatricians provide normal newborn coverage at the hospitals. This position will primarily cover the NICUs at St Joseph's North (located in Lutz) and South Florida Baptist Hospital (located in Plant City) with the opportunity to rotate to the other hospitals covered by the practice. Overview We are seeking a certified, experienced, per diem Neonatal Nurse Practitioner to join our well-established practice of 30 years at Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare (TMH), home to the region’s only Newborn Intensive Care Unit. Responsibilities The only hospital in Tallahassee to earn the Baby-Friendly Hospital designation, TMH leads the region by delivering more than 75 percent of babies born in the area. With 19 labor and delivery rooms, the facility is dedicated to providing patient-centered care to new babies and their families. With an ADC of 25 and 4,000 annual deliveries, this is the only area facility designated as a Level-III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and is equipped to handle high-risk moms and premature or critically ill babies. The hospital serves a 17 county region in North Florida and South Georgia, and receives transports from regional hospitals Affiliated with 3 residency programs.
