Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) - FP UNC Fertility Clinic

Summary: A Nurse Practitioner functions as part of the interdisciplinary healthcare team in accordance with privileges approved by the credentialing committee to provide high quality, cost effective care to patients within the APPs scope of practice in collaboration with a supervising physician. Hours: 7:30-4:30 M-F with 1 Saturday required every 6 weeks (One 4-hour administrative block per week and one day off following a Saturday call). Location: UNC Fertility in Brier Creek We are looking for an Advanced Practice Provider with previous experience in Women’s Health and/or Primary Care, preference given to those with prior Reproductive Endocrinology experience. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of APP experience and be comfortable with Epic as well as adaptable to use of multiple electronic medical record systems. The position is clinic based with a need for procedural skills including but not limited to endometrial biopsy, hysterosalpingogram, saline infusion sonogram, intra-uterine insemination, and endometrial biopsy. Job Description: The Pod Provider delivers comprehensive chronic disease management (e.g. hypertension, diabetes, chronic kidney disease), evaluation of acute concerns, behavioral health condition management (i.e. depression, anxiety, alcohol and substance use disorder), and preventative care and wellness support (including sexual and reproductive health). The role works collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team of clinical and non-clinical members to develop member care plans and to support members throughout their care journey. Provide longitudinal direct primary care or wrap-around care with focus on chronic condition management and preventative care. timely follow-up for members post transition of care event, acute need or according to condition-specific needs. Proactively outreach to members who need follow up care. Complete comprehensive and compliant diagnosis capture related to HCC (Hierarchical Condition Categories) and ICD-10 (International Classification of Diseases-10) Coding. Address contractual and company-prioritized quality gaps and ensure proper chart documentation and codes (ICD or CPT) are included in the encounter as supporting evidence of gap closure. Prescribe 1st and 2nd line medications for depression, anxiety, alcohol use disorders and opioid use disorders. The role is primarily 1st assisting in the operating room, but inpatient rounds and clinic are also included. The ideal applicant will be able to work in the OR in robotic, laparoscopic, and open cases daily. The applicant should be comfortable working and communicating effectively with multiple providers, the OR, hospital staff, and consulting departments as needed. Hours will be decided upon by the Surgical Team, but are typically a combination of 8, 10, &/or 12 hour shifts, 4 days per week.
