This Advanced Practice Provider will play an integral role in delivering comprehensive patient care throughout the surgical continuum, including pre-operative evaluation and education, peri-operative surgical assistance, post-operative coordination of care, and outpatient follow-up. The role will provide care to both pediatric and adult patients with congenital heart disease. NPs: Must be certified as an Acute Care NP or Family NP and hold either an RNFA or CNOR certification, with prior operating room (OR) experience required. Schedule: The APP team provides coverage 7 days a week, including holidays. This is primarily a day-shift position with occasional night call responsibilities. Delivers direct patient care consistent with the advanced practice registered nurse’s education, experience and certification, in collaboration with a physician, which includes diagnosis, management and/or referral of health care issues. Promotes consumer, family, and community health through preventative health care actions and through patient advocacy. Metro Life Flight: Responsible for advanced emergency and critical care patient management during air and ground transport of the critically ill or injured patient from the scene or outlying sites to participating secondary and tertiary care institutions.
