General Summary: The Pediatric APRN or Physician Assistant, under the supervision of the Physician, who acts as the collaborative practitioner, is responsible for: Performs newborn admissions, consultations, follow-up care, and discharge planning. Orders and interprets appropriate diagnostic tests for newborn patients, including routine laboratory studies and imaging. Provides education and counseling to newborn family members regarding the patient's condition, treatment plan, and discharge instructions. Monitors the newborn's clinical progress, evaluates response to treatment, and coordinates referrals to physicians or specialists as clinically indicated. Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure consistent, high-quality newborn care and support. Successfully completes all pre-employment requirements, including a third-party background check and drug screening.
