Overview Responsible for providing prenatal, postnatal, general medical care and treatment of patients within the Maternal Fetal Medicine division which is a division of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Eastern Virginia Medical School. This position will provide a combination of inpatient and outpatient care duties. Overview The Department of Medicine has developed a Comprehensive Sickle Cell Program in collaboration with the Departments of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Psychiatry. This program is supported by EVMS and Sentara Health. The goal of this program is to provide top-notch outpatient and inpatient clinical care to patients with sickle cell disease. We are looking for Advanced Practice Providers (APP), a nurse practitioner (NP) or a physician assistant (PA), who will function as a clinical provider in the Division of General Internal Medicine, Department of Medicine. The APP will participate in all aspects of patient care and will participate in the supporting roles of consultant and educator as indicated. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Nurse Practitioner’s must have MSN and must be a licensed RN by the Virginia Board of Nursing and a certified Nurse Practitioner. Physician Assistant must have an MPA. Must be a licensed Physician Assistant within the Commonwealth of Virginia. EXPERIENCE PREFERRED: Schedule II prescriptive eligibility Knowledge of or experience working with: persons with sickle cell disease, chronic pain management; cardiovascular disease is preferred.
