Position Summary: Under general supervision, performs basic medical assistant activities on patients. Maintains a safe, comfortable and therapeutic environment for patients and families during visit; demonstrates sensitivity to patient's comfort and privacy. Assists physicians or practitioner with examinations, various OB/GYN procedures, and other processes related to direct patient care. Ensures an adequate stock of supplies and necessary equipment. Monitors and ensures accuracy of recording on patient's medical records. Assists with ordering lab requests based on order given by provider. Inspects area daily for compliance with policies, procedures, regulations and standards and takes corrective action when appropriate. Assists with cleaning instruments and cleaning and re-stocking examination rooms on a daily basis. Transports instruments to sterile processing as needed. Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually. Works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested. Performs other duties as assigned.
