Refers patients to physicians for consultation or to specialized health resources for treatment but retains responsibility for clinical management as well as any subsequent modification. Qualifications Education: As required by licensure. Experience: Clinical experience requirements are dependent upon the specific position, and include a minimum of 2 years of experience in a related field. Licensure Current applicable state RN license required. National certification as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) required. Applicable state license as a Nurse Practitioner w/Prescriptive Privileges (NP-PP) required. Overview Licensed Practical Nurse - Stony Brook Children’s Service, UFPC Location: East Islip, NY Schedule: Full time - 40 hours - * five 8-hour shifts per week * Days/Hours: Work shifts are scheduled within the hours of 7:30 AM – 8:00 PM. 1-2 evening shifts per week (ending at 8:00 PM) and 1-2 Saturdays per month are required. Job Responsibilities: Ensure standards of clinical practice and infection control are maintained. Oversee that all clinical standards and administrative policies are practiced and upheld by support staff. Certify clinical support staff annually in waive testing. Collaborate with Ambulatory Office Manager to ensure staff attend orientation, annual recertification and yearly physicals. Oversee that daily quality controls are performed. Develop and oversee a cleaning and stocking assignment and schedule for support staff. Ensure an adequate level of medical supplies. Maintain the medication room, by checking for expired items and correct par level of medications. Maintain refrigerator temp log and daily O2 check. Ensure that lab logs are maintained. Oversight of clinical staff in conjunction with Ambulatory Office Manager: Assess and evaluate staff performance and complete annual assessment, performance programs and competencies Assign staff to work with providers and address staffing shortfalls in conjunction with other leads Address provider concerns with regard to clinical staff and provide counseling/disciplinary action as required Monitor staff time and approve time off requests ensuring adequate staffing; review biweekly time and attendance forms for accuracy. Maintain efficiency of clinical operations: Make recommendations to physician and operations lead to improve efficiency and physician productivity within the practice. Attend regular leadership meetings and participate in decision making related to the clinical practice as a whole. Work closely with other clinical leads and Ambulatory Office Manager to ensure consistency in processes and procedures across practice locations. Overview Under the daily supervision of the Department Administrator, and Clinical Supervision of a Psychiatrist, this role functions as an Advanced Practice Provider within EVMS Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. This role will enable the Department Psychiatrists to expand their capacity to perform comprehensive new patient evaluations, and to provide patient care for patients that have established and determined diagnosis. This Advanced Practice Provider will also play a pivotal role in the Department's Next Day Clinic (NDAC). Responsibilities Evaluates New Patients. Develop treatment plans for established patients and our revisions in accordance with applicable protocols, standards of care and under the clinical supervision of assigned psychiatrists. Prescribes medications under the practice agreement. Elicits and records a comprehensive and accurate past medical and social history and review of Systems for patients within EPIC. Maintains effective communication with Chairman, Department Administrator, and providers regarding individuals. patient care and develop a coordinated care plan. Maintains strict confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA and manages matters professionally with sensitivity to racial, ethnic, and sexual orientation issues. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications and Skills: Master’s in physician assistant or Nurse Practitioner. Must be a licensed PA by the Virginia Board of Medicine and a certified physician assistant by the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
