Overview About the Role The Clinic Nurse Manager is an experienced clinical leader responsible for managing assigned areas and multiple services within the assigned practice, supervising assigned patient care personnel during clinic operations. The Clinic Nurse Manager is responsible to ensure the safe and effective delivery of patient care and clinical outcomes, compliance with regulatory, administrative, and clinical standards, policies, and procedures. Responsibilities What You’ll Do Maintains nursing and clinical operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational and personnel policies and procedures within the assigned practice in the Ambulatory Care Center. “Owns” clinic operations and exercises broad oversight for clinic patient throughput, provider performance, and clinical and/or support services. Maintains accountability for daily staffing patterns and appropriate skill mix to support the practice’s volume and acuity. Assures quality of care by ensuring adherence to state board of nursing practice act requirements and other governing agency regulations including National Patient Safety Goals, measuring health outcomes against standards, and making or recommending adjustments in practice. Facilitates a culture of safety and accountability through the application of Just Culture. Maintains a collaborative relationship with key ancillary departments serving the Pediatrics population. Develops realistic plans balancing short-term and long-term goals. Aligns clinic and program plans with hospital goals. Provides oversight and direction to staff in their interactions with the inpatient units and other departments. Monitors budget indicators for areas of responsibility in order to assure financial viability, smooth operations of assigned areas and delivery of cost effective, quality patient care. Assesses clinical supplies and resources to identify comparable less expensive alternatives. Participates in and initiates quality assurance and performance improvement activities. Manages the appropriate utilization of clinic resources (i.e., supplies and labor) while consistently working towards initiatives that support continuous process improvement (CPI). Maintains clinic supply inventory by studying usage reports, identifying trends, anticipating needed supplies, approving requisition and cost allocations. Measures patient, physician and employee satisfaction and develops and implements plans to improve satisfaction in collaboration with the team. Qualifications What You’ll Bring Required: Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of New Jersey. Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) required, a Master’s Degree (MSN) preferred. A minimum of five (5) years of nursing experience required. BLS (CPR) is required. Certification as an Ambulatory Nurse (RN-BC) is desirable and preferred within two (2) years of hire. Must have the ability to lead a team and maintain maximum effectiveness and efficiency. Strong oral and written communication skills, and exceptional customer service skills required. Must have the ability to organize and prioritize multiple issues for resolution. Preferred: Bilingual skills preferred. Overview The Department of Family and Community Medicine at Macon & Joan Brock Virginia Health Sciences at Old Dominion University is seeking an outstanding Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join the team. The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is responsible for overseeing and assisting with the day-to-day patient care including but not limited to taking vitals, administering meds/treatments, assisting physicians, doing wound care, patient education, documentation, coordinating care, focusing on comfort and supporting quality initiatives, in a fast-paced office. LPN will also assist with training new staff and a point of contact for medical assistants. Responsibilities Perform patient triage including obtaining vital signs, reconciling medications and allergies, documenting chief complaints, administering medications and immunizations according to approved protocols, observing for adverse reactions, assisting providers with examinations, minor procedures, wound care, diagnostic testing, and implementing standing orders. Provide basic patient care and document all nursing interventions in the electronic medical record. Manage patient-related tasks and follow-up activities including responding to MyChart communications, patient messages and telephone calls, communicating test and laboratory results, answering patient questions, coordinating referrals and specialist appointments, interacting with family members and healthcare providers, documenting all patient communications, notifying providers of critical results, and ensuring same-day response to patient inquiries when appropriate. Review charts for completeness, monitor test results and task completion, reconcile discharge medications, manage prescription refills, obtain medication prior authorizations, manage durable medical equipment orders, administer PPD testing as needed, and ensure accurate documentation and billing activities within the electronic medical record. Maintaining cleanliness in treatment areas and ensuring exam rooms are fully stocked with necessary medical instruments and supplies. Ensure stocked items are not expired. Cleans, sterilizes, and maintains used instrumentation per department protocol. Assists supervisors in the training of new staff members. LPN's are required to fill in for other clinical staff during vacations and illness and perform other duties as assigned by providers, or supervisors at both sites. Overview About the Role The primary purpose of the Staff Nurse (Infusion Center) position is to administer total patient care based on individualized needs of assigned patients and families in accordance with professional nursing standards. The Staff Nurse will utilize knowledge of chemotherapy and/or radiation oncology procedures to assess, screen, evaluate, educate, and provide care management/outcome management in accordance with professional nursing standards to adult patients who are under the care of the Outpatient Oncology Services team. Responsibilities What You’ll Do Provides comprehensive, patient-centered nursing care based on the individualized needs of patients and their families while adhering to professional nursing standards. Assesses, screens, evaluates, educates, and coordinates care for adult oncology patients receiving treatment through Outpatient Oncology Services. Applies specialized knowledge of chemotherapy and radiation oncology treatments to support safe and effective patient care. Delivers care management and outcome management services to promote positive patient outcomes and continuity of care. Supports daily clinical and office operations within the oncology practice setting. Demonstrates a collaborative team-oriented approach and flexibility by rotating among Oncology Service departments as needed. Maintains knowledge of and compliance with University Hospital (UH), Joint Commission, and Department of Health (DOH) regulations and standards. Participates in evidence-based nursing practice initiatives, quality assurance (QA) activities, and performance improvement (PI) programs to enhance patient care and clinical outcomes. Promotes excellence in patient care through effective communication, teamwork, professionalism, and adherence to organizational policies and procedures. Qualifications What You’ll Bring Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required. Current New Jersey Registered Nurse (RN) license required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare professionals required. Minimum of two (2) years of full-time hospital nursing experience preferred. Oncology nursing experience preferred. Oncology Nursing Society (ONS)/ONCC Provider Chemotherapy Biotherapy Certificate and/or Radiation Therapy Certificate required. IV/Venous Access Device Certification required. Required certifications must be obtained within the first ninety (90) days of employment if not already held and maintained throughout employment.
