What you will do in this role: Identify the patients functional, cognitive, physiological, and psychological condition, including family expectations and treatment perceptions prior to emergency care. Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate general nursing care alongside interdisciplinary discharge planning tailored to the fast-paced freestanding environment. Carry out physician orders, assist with emergency examinations or procedures, and safely administer medications while adhering strictly to controlled substance policies. Observe patient clinical status, maintain accurate medical records, and immediately communicate critical changes in condition through the established unit chain of command. Comply with hospital policies, age-specific competencies, and universal infection control precautions while contributing to facility performance improvement initiatives. Plan and coordinate patient and family teaching, evaluate their understanding of instructions, and support diverse cultural, psychosocial, and spiritual values. Maintain full professional accountability by knowing and following all regulations set forth in the Texas Nurse Practice Act and relevant nursing statutes. What qualifications you will need: Graduate of an accredited diploma, associates, or baccalaureate degree registered nursing program. Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred. Current Registered Nurse License in the State of Texas or Multi-State Compact License (Employees with RN Compact License are required to obtain Texas RN License within 90 days of hire date) Current BLS, ACLS, PALS or ENPC, TNCC and NIH Stroke certifications required. 1 year of clinical ER experience as a licensed RN in hospital or FSER setting required .
