Responsibilities This position is accountable for providing and managing competent nursing care to the neonatal patient that requires moderate to complex assessments, interventions and level of nursing vigilance. The NICU RNII is responsible for working in a team environment using a multidisciplinary approach to providing nursing care adapted to individual patient needs based on the nursing process, which includes assessment, planning implementation and evaluation. The individualized patient care is delivered in a safe, supportive, caring and family centered environment. The RN is also responsible for supervising, coordinating and delegating personnel who participate in the provision of care to ensure that patient needs and expected outcomes are met. Qualifications Minimum of one (1) year current NICU Level III experience is required. Current CA RN License, current certification in BLS for Healthcare Providers (CPR & AED) and current certification in Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) are required. RNC-NIC and/or BSN preferred. Legacy Meridian is Stroke certified by the Joint Commission and the American Stroke Association. Annually, 37,500 adult and pediatric patients from five counties visit the 24/7 17 bed ED, which was remodeled in 2015, in this community hospital located in Tualatin (a suburb of Portland). Patients are cared for in our 10 room Ambulatory Care Unit from 11am to 11pm. Responsibilities Responsible for patient care within an assigned department/unit and participates as a member of the health care team in cooperation with and under the direction of the clinical manager or designee as defined by the relevant Standards and Scope of Practice for the Registered Nurse. The RN Staff Nurse assesses, analyzes, plans, implements and evaluates patient care following established patient care standards for Legacy Health System including those for patient assessment and transfer. Qualifications Education: As required by licensure. BSN or degree in progress strongly preferred. BSN may be required for specific assignments; experienced RNs without a BSN may be hired based on clinical experience with approval of the site CNO. Experience: One-year registered nursing experience or completion of either the Legacy Health RN Residency program or a nursing program that is equivalent in content, curriculum and duration. Additional clinical experience requirements may vary dependent upon the specific department in which the position is utilized. Emergency RN experience preferred. Knowledge/Skills: Demonstrated ability of positive interpersonal and communication skills with colleagues, patients, families, physicians and the community. Keyboard skills and ability to navigate electronic systems applicable to job functions. Licensure Current applicable state RN license required. AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers.
