DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION: 20 bed unit designed to provide pre-procedural care and post-procedural moderate sedation/anesthesia observation for the diagnostic and interventional Cardiac Catheterization, Electrophysiological and Neuro outpatients. Inpatients also arrive and depart from the Care Unit for their pre- and post-procedural care. One of the 20 rooms is utilized for TEE procedures. Nurse/patient ratio 4:1, and staffing coverage reflects the standards and practice recommendations of the American Society of Perianesthesia Nurses (ASPAN). Busy, energetic unit which requires staff to work as a team to manage the fast-paced workflow. A supportive, individualized and thorough orientation is provided with a knowledgeable, experienced staff member. Critical care and excellent IV insertion skills preferred but not required. SCHEDULE: Per Diem Hours are Monday through Friday, 6AM-6PM or 9AM-9PM.
