Summary Under limited supervision of the Director of Cardiac Device Clinic, the Cardiac Device nurse is independently accountable for the effective management and coordination of care of patient with Cardiac Implantable Electronic Device (CIED), pacemakers, ICD and Implantable Loop Recorders. The RN will partner with Cardiologists, Cardiology APPs and other clinical staff throughout ANTHC to coordinate the care of cardiovascular patients with CIEDs. The Cardiac Device RN will be responsible for providing comprehensive patient care by completing thorough, competent interrogations and reprogramming of implanted cardiac device in the inpatient and outpatient settings. The Cardiac Device RN will assist in coordination of care and device optimization throughout imaging studies. The Cardiac Device RN is responsible for triaging remote transmissions and programming recommendations for patients undergoing therapies that may impact the device. Responsibilities Conduct interviews with patient, family and other health care agencies to obtain past medical records and social and medical history to assess their understanding of the plan of care regarding cardiac monitoring device. Performs independently perform CIED interrogation and device/patient monitoring in the inpatient and outpatient setting, including MRI, ER per cardiology provider’s orders Provides comprehensive patient care by accurately identifying malfunctions, alerts, and sub-optimal device operations along with clinical scenario and follow up appropriately with the patient and provider teams.
