Our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is a Level 4, 82-bed regional referral center for the seven-state region with a platinum-level designation for ECMO. We treat neonate, infant and pediatric patients less than 2 years old with conditions including hypoxemic respiratory failure, infections, hematological, neurological, cardiovascular, metabolic disorders, single major or multiple anomalies requiring diagnostic work-up and/or surgical intervention. We provide continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT), renal dialysis and body cooling for neonates among many other therapies to provide the highest level of neonatal care to infants and their families. We are hiring experienced NICU nurses, but if you are a nurse with adult or pediatric inpatient experience looking to transition to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), our "New To NICU" program within the Anschutz Neonatal Intensive Care Unit will support you in your journey. We are currently interviewing candidates with at least one year of general inpatient pediatric experience, pediatric ICU experience, or adult ICU experience. Next possible start dates for "New to NICU": July 6th and October 12th Qualifications EDUCATION – Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) EXPERIENCE – One year nursing experience. Candidates with NICU, general inpatient pediatric experience, pediatric ICU experience, or adult ICU experience strongly preferred. The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) provides care for children with life-threatening illnesses as well as those who are at serious risk for life threatening complications. We care for children from birth to 21 years of age. Patients treated here are experiencing multi-organ system failure, acute and chronic pulmonary conditions, meningitis, septic shock, near drowning, diabetic ketoacidosis, renal and/or hepatic failure, oncology/bone marrow transplant or airway management, among other needs. Major diagnostic categories include respiratory, neurologic, injury/poisoning, trauma, oncologic and infectious disease. The PICU also provides care for patients receiving solid organ transplant as well as neurosurgical, burn, orthopedic, ENT and general pediatric surgical patients. Patients in the PICU are cared for by a multidisciplinary team including pediatric intensivists, RNs and dedicated PICU respiratory therapists, pharmacists, nutritionists, social workers and child life specialists. The Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders (CCBD) at Children’s Hospital Colorado (CHCO) is a 48-bed inpatient unit specializing in the care of patients with cancer, blood disorders, immunodeficiencies, and genetic disorders who require hospitalization for their treatment of their diseases or conditions. Treatments include chemotherapy, immunotherapy, cellular therapy, and radioactive therapy for oncologic and non-oncologic diagnoses. The CCBD Inpatient team is a multidisciplinary group of nurses, clinical assistants, inpatient service specialists, providers, social workers, dieticians, pharmacists, child life therapists, therapy dogs, and more! Shift: Full Time Night Shift (3-12hr shifts per week) Are you an experienced adult nurse looking to transition to the world of pediatrics? Our Pediatric Nursing Transition to Practice Programs will support you in your journey. Start dates in June 2026, Sept 2026, and Dec 2026. This position is eligible for relocation assistance, if relocating from 100 miles or greater. Delivers patient and family centered care incorporating the nursing process while providing developmentally appropriate, culturally sensitive, evidence based care. Actively anticipates changes in patient outcomes/ unit needs in the provision of care. Care is guided by the Professional Practice Model throughout the continuum of care. Communicate and advocate patient values, preferences and expressed needs as part of implementation of care plan, evaluation of care and assessment of patient/family learning needs to the interdisciplinary team. Initiates and anticipates individualized care and education for patients/families across the continuum using an interdisciplinary approach. Equivalency Applicants with an Associate's Degree in Nursing and who agree to obtain a BSN within three (3) years from their start/hire date may be considered in lieu of a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master’s Entry to Practice Nursing (MEPN) may substitute for a BSN. Licenses & Certifications BLS/CPR from the American Heart Association with at least six (6) months left before expiration is required upon hire. Current Colorado Registered Nurse (RN) license or RN license from multistate compact Additional Requirements BLS/CPR with at least six (6) months left before expiration.
