About our Clinical Nurse position The Clinical Nurse provides both direct patient care and patient care coordination. In collaboration with advanced practice clinicians, physicians, anesthesia staff, and health center leadership, the clinical nurse will support the delivery of comprehensive sexual and reproductive health services, including abortion care. Responsibilities include pre-procedural health screening and sedation risk assessment, management of pre and post procedure recovery room, monitoring patients before, during, and after sedation, administering medications under the direction of licensed staff, and directly assisting in abortion procedures to ensure safe, compassionate, and high-quality care. Assessing medical history and appropriateness for out-patient care Assessing sedation and anesthesia risk Caring coordination for patients requiring pre-procedure planning Assisting physician or advanced practice clinician in procedure room as necessary Observing take vital signs and record patient's condition in pre [1] operative/procedure/recovery room Administer medications according to standing orders and/or in collaboration with licensed staff Proficient and compliant documentation in the electronic medical record Starting IVs Giving after care instructions and discharge patients with appropriate documentation Assisting in transfers/emergency care as directed Ultrasound training and duties as assigned.
