Clinical Nurse Manager

Overview The Clinical Nurse Manager is responsible and accountable for the supervision of nursing services to ensure the delivery of safe, effective, and efficient patient care. As a member of the Management Team, this position is responsible for assigning, assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating clinical care within the assigned nursing unit(s). Special Instructions The Behavioral Nurse in the Emergency Department will focus on the behavioral health section of the ER. We treat a wide variety of patients that come through the ER for behavioral health services. Some are involuntary and some are voluntary. The behavioral health nurse would be responsible for the assessment, sitting, medication administration and all other duties as assigned in our locked behavioral health unit. They would talk with providers and deal directly with our inpatient behavioral health unit. When there are no patients in the behavioral health are this nurse will step out and help ER staff. These duties may include patient assessments, admission assessments, discharges, medication administration, transporting patients to other units and all other duties as assigned. They will have the same certification requirements as emergency room staff nurses and behavioral health experience is preferred. If there is no behavioral health experience they will orient on the inpatient behavioral health unit for 30 days before coming to the emergency department. Enterprise Registered Nurse Supplemental Staffing Team

Overview The Supplemental Staffing Team (SST) Registered Nurse (RN) assesses, analyzes, plans, implements and evaluates patient care following established patient care standards for Appalachian Regional Healthcare including those established by the Nurse Practice Act. Overview The Staff Nurse is accountable for interpreting the plan of medical care, assessment of patients clinical decision-making regarding nursing care, assuring nursing care is provided in a safe and competent manner, providing individualized nursing care, and evaluating nursing care for groups of patients.
