Registered Nurse - Wyatt GI Outpatient Center

The WYATT GI PROCEDURAL CENTER of the Tucson Medical Center will begin hiring our new team to start mid- June- July, 2026- Our state-of-the-art Wyatt Gastroenterology Procedural Center is conveniently located on the Tucson Medical Campus at 2424 N. Wyatt Dr. directly next to the hospital. Our center focuses solely on outpatient adult gastrointestinal endoscopic procedures including colonoscopies and upper endoscopies. Our highly trained gastroenterologists, experienced nurses, and dedicated GI Techs walk you through the entire process from start-to-finish, keeping you at ease and comfortable at every point in your outpatient procedure. This is a full time M-F Day position (no call, no weekends, no holidays!)- requiring previous GI, Procedural or related nursing experience. Experience in a similar procedural area with conscious sedation skills is preferred. Summary Coordinates patient care planning with other disciplines utilizing the principles of the nursing process and critical thinking skills in order to maintain patient safety and well-being. The NICU is a 41 bed level III Intensive Care Nursery.We care for all sick and premature babies (as small as 23 weeks gestation).The NICU supports Labor and Delivery with a high-risk team to respond to all high-risk deliveries. The NICU has a Neonatal Transport Team that provides services to all Level 1I am v Nurseries and 11 centers in Southeastern Arizona and Northern Mexico. The Mother Baby Unit is a 40 bed unit that provides newborn, antepartum and postpartum care to adolescent and adult women. Our nurses, many of whom hold a specialty certification in Maternal Newborn Nursing, care for their patients with an emphasis placed on safe, compassionate, and family centered care. Patient acuity can range from low risk patients, who obtain their care from our highly skilled OB and Certified Nurse Midwife providers, to high risk patients, who obtain their care from our Maternal Fetal Medicine specialists. Our full‐time social workers provide care and resources to our patient population for any psychosocial needs during the patient’s stay. Our IBCLCs are on site seven days a week providing breastfeeding support to inpatients and coordinating our donor milk program in addition to following patients in the community through our outpatient clinic. The TMC Emergency Department is the busiest Emergency Department in Southern Arizona, seeing at least 95,000 patients a year between both the adult and pediatric ED. We have a total of 54 beds separated into 4 pods (North, South, East, and West). Patients are placed into pods based on their triage acuity. The staffing ratio follows ENA standards for a 1:4 ratio that flexes based on acuity. We follow the Emergency Severity Index (ESI) Guidelines for triage of all ER patients. We see a variety of patients within the department – everything from sore throats and simple lacerations to respiratory failure and STEMI patients. TMC has earned certification as a Comprehensive Stroke Center, accreditation as a Chest Pain Center, and the Gold Plus Achievement Award for stroke programs from the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association. The Women’s Care Unit is a 20‐bed unit that provides gynecologic, antepartum, and medical-surgical overflow for adolescent, adult, and geriatric women. This all‐private room unit cares for the post‐surgical patient following vaginal and abdominal hysterectomy, bladder repairs, laparoscopic procedures, plastics, mastectomies/breast reconstruction, and women with medical‐surgical complications. The Women’s Care Unit also specializes in providing care to high‐risk antepartum patients, who sometimes spend weeks or months as an inpatient until the time of delivery. The all-female staff provides compassionate care to patients who have experienced a fetal loss or are placing a baby for adoption. Due to its small size and highly tenured staff, this unit has a cohesive, physician‐nurse partnership that provides safe, exceptional care to its patients. Works with other members of the interdisciplinary patient care team, implements and reinforces patient instructional needs with patient and family offering informational material and pointing out special areas of concern. Evaluates outcomes of patient care, consults with other specialists as needed and adjusts nursing care processes as necessary to ensure optimal patient care. Identifies and resolves workplace health and safety issues. P rovides appropriate, direct patient care utilizing appropriate aseptic techniques. May manage IV lines, ensure that sterile techniques are adhered to, and oversee patient movement and positioning to ensure that the patient is handled in a medically safe manner. May perform the administration of pharmacological vasodilator medications for the purpose of nuclear myocardial perfusion imaging; complies with examination competency as defined in the Imaging Services Practice Standards. Complies with policies, procedures, regulations, and standards and takes corrective action when violations occur. Orients, instructs, and educates assigned personnel. Minimum Qualifications EDUCATION : Bachelor’s degree preferred. EXPERIENCE : One (1) year of nursing experience in an acute care setting preferred. (Positions assigned to EP: require two (2) years of EP experience or demonstrated competency in all areas of EP Lab procedures). LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION: Current RN licensure permitting work in the State of Arizona and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Additional certification may be required per department. Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Knowledge of direct patient care and critical care procedures and techniques, tools, and responses required to ensure optimal patient care. Knowledge of exam indicators, contraindications, and patient preparation. Skill in communicating in a clear and concise manner with staff involved in critical care, and physicians to ensure the proper care of patients. Skill in reading 12-lead EKG. Skill demonstrated in assigned disciplines such as EP, directly involved in patient care. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to complete routine reports and correspondence. Ability to listen and accurately interpret others’ communication or instructions to take appropriate action. Ability to speak and communicate effectively. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
