Provides, directs, and guides patient teaching, discharge planning, and care planning for specific patient population served. Ensures that high standards of professional nursing are maintained. Staff Education/Training: Evaluates need for/develops and implements continuing education programs for licensed staff in assigned area promoting critical thinking and problem solving skills. Assist with nursing assistant and unit coordinator education for ongoing education. Provides unit specific orientation to new staff. Provides annual competency programs and additional hospital required programs utilizing adult learning principles using varied teaching methodologies and standardized lesson plan.
