Job Description SHIFT The person in this role will work three 12-hour shifts from 7:00p - 7:00a for a total of 36 hours per week to include some weekends. POSITION HIGHLIGHTS Fast-Paced, Specialized Post-Surgical Care on a BRAND NEW unit! This dynamic 17-bed unit with a nurse to patient ratio of 1:5-6 that cares for adult patients ages 18 to 100 who are admitted for planned, elective surgical procedures across multiple specialties—including general surgery, orthopedics, hernias, foregut, and bariatric surgery. Our patients are unique because they typically arrive with a clear surgical plan and a recovery pathway focused on rapid mobilization, pain management, and discharge readiness. Length of stay is generally 24 hours to 2–3 days , which creates a predictable, structured workflow for nurses and providers. Please note this is an *Inpatient* unit and not a surgery center opportunity. Why 10S? SHIFT: The person in this role will work three 10 hour shifts from 6:30am-5:00p for a total of 30 hours per week. There is a call requirement of every 4th weekend for 4 hours on both Sat/Sun. Nuclear medicine nurse responsibilities include: Cardiac stress perfusion studies on mostly adults but also on children Stress testing in the PET departmentMost of the nuclear stress testing is done on inpatients. We generally use Regadenoson, Adenosine, Dobutamine or treadmills to accomplish this. We do Viability studies in PET to test for hibernating myocardium using high dose insulin gtts combined with glucose and potassium. We do brain mappings/ stress with Diamox or adenosine. Nurses perform sarcoid studies in PET using heparin. We monitor mapping patients after procedures in Interventional Radiology. Coronary CTAs are done regularly utilizing metoprolol IV, diltiazem IV and nitroglycerin. Help thyroid cancer patients with prepping them for Iodine therapies and testing. We teach the nuclear medicine students the patient care curriculum in the allied health program. The main topics are direct patient care, vital signs, and EKG rhythm interpretation. WHAT YOU"LL NEED - Graduate of an approved discipline program - 1 year RN experience - Active RN license The hiring team for this position has noted the ideal candidate will have at minimum one year of ICU or ED experience.
