PURPOSE AND SCOPE: The professional registered nurse Inpatient Services RN CAP 1 is an entry level designation into the Clinical Advancement Program (CAP). The OR RN is responsible for the care of the patients in the operating room. The nurse is accountable for ongoing evaluation, provision of care, and documentation of all components of care delivered to customers within the perioperative environment utilizing the nursing process. The RN coordinates care with the team assigned to care for each patient, and communicates concerns to the OR, preoperative, and postoperative staff in a professional manner to ensure patient safety.
