Summary The Registered Nurse is responsible for all departmental functions aligned with the mission, vision, and goals of PM Pediatrics. The Registered Nurse role is an opportunity for a pediatric nurse to apply their skills in a pediatric urgent care setting and assist with primary patient care based on individual patient needs within their scope of practice under the physician’s direct supervision. This position maintains effective working relationships with all customers, including patients/families, physicians, employees, volunteers, and vendors. Description Candidates must have pediatric and/or critical care experience, preferably in an emergency department setting, and must be able to work on scheduled weekends (Saturday and Sunday) as part of the schedule rotation. Job Responsibilities: Provide clinical and administrative support for providers, patients, and office operations Obtain medical history, patient vital signs, intake, and prioritize patient care Perform procedures (venipuncture, IV insertion, urinary straight cath), administer medications (oral, rectal, IM, and IV), and assist the physician with total patient care within the scope of practice Remaining knowledgeable in pediatric pharmacology Be an integral part of the patient care team and assist with patient care within the scope of practice Perform monthly quality control checks in the office Assist in performing quality control testing in the lab Ability to assist the physician with patient care, positioning, and comfort during the x-ray process Keep exam rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies, maintain instruments, and prepare sterilization tools and equipment as required Practice standard safety practices and precautions Helps patients in distress by responding to emergencies and promptly notifies physician Establish effective rapport with clients, families, other employees, and physicians Maintains operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes to management team Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping patient care information confidential in compliance with HIPAA regulations Updates knowledge by participating in continuing education requirements and opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations Enhances health care practice reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and challenging requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments Assisting patients with complaints and taking an active role in service recovery when needed Assist physician with a focus on efficiency metrics to improve urgent care flow and throughput (Arrival to Room, Arrival to Medication Administration, Disposition to Discharge, Discharge Length of Stay) Qualifications Pediatric experience is required; Pediatric ER, Pediatric hospital unit, or Pediatrics Urgent Care Experience preferred Active state nursing license or active compact state licensure from the state you reside Prior experience and competency with nursing procedures (not limited to IV placement, urinary straight catheterization, and medication administration) Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) recommended Knowledge of medical practice and terminology, clinic’s processes, and procedures Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments Skill in rapid assessment of the critical presentation of the pediatric population Ability to use sound reasoning and judgment and act calmly in emergencies Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and nonverbally Possess the following qualifications: Energetic, Highly Motivated, Customer Service Focus, Positive Attitude, Confidentiality, Teamwork, and Professionalism Compensation: $30 - $46/hour The salary/rate range listed here has been provided to comply with local regulations and represents a potential base salary/rate for this role. Position Summary: Plans, initiates, coordinates, implements, and oversees clinical trials within the LGHealth Research Institute under the direction of the clinical Principal Investigator PI who is responsible for the overall conduct and management of the clinical trial. Coordinates the daily clinical trial activities and plays the critical lead role in the conduct of clinical studies in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations. Oversees and conducts informed consent process under direction of Primary Investigator and maintains appropriate documentation according to GCP, FDA, and IRB guidelines. Maintains adequate inventory of study supplies. Oversees and maintains drug and medical device accountability according to regulatory guidelines for receipt, storage, dispensation, and return of investigational product according to SOPs policy on Investigational Drug Device Accountability. Collaborates with other Research Coordinators, particularly in areas where clinical and non-clinical research areas interface. Contributes to the mentoring of new research staff. Functions as a resource for physicians, other health care providers, and ancillary support staff regarding care of the research participant as it relates to any given clinical research protocol; conducts staff in-services as appropriate. Coordinates and manages the patient assessments according to protocol standards at LGHealth locations, in a clinically safe and regulatory compliant manner. Utilizes clinical knowledge and assessment skills necessary to evaluate, report, and record accurate medical information including response to therapy according to approved research protocol. Develops and maintains rapport with patients to promote adherence to treatment and data collection protocols. Coordinates participant tests and procedures and maintains study timelines in data collection and completion of case report forms. Assures collected data for any approved research protocol is correct, sufficient, all inclusive, regulatory compliant and the integrity is intact. Maintains study files in accordance with sponsor requirements and LGH SOP Policies, including consent forms, source documentation, narrative notes if applicable, case report forms, and investigational material accountability forms. Assures the source documentation of all research activities is completed and accessible for CRF completion, reporting purposes, and for site visits by Sponsors and other regulatory agencies. Facilitates, conducts and oversees monitoring visits with Sponsors and other related agencies for the purpose of evaluating the accuracy and quality of the collected data. Maintains effective and ongoing communication with Sponsor, research participants and PI during the course of the study. Other duties as assigned.
