Medical Surgical ICU (MSICU) The UNC Rex Medical Surgical ICU is 20 bed, adult and geriatric medical, surgical and overflow of cardiac and neuro intensive care patients. UNC Rex MSICU serves a variety of patients including those with complex medical conditions requiring intensive care. The unit provides direct post-operative recovery of patients from major surgery. The Nurses are highly skilled, with excellent critical thinking able to care for patient with ARDS on a Ventilator, proning, active titration of vasoactive drips, sedation, complex therapies such as Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT), Target Temperature Management Therapy (TTM). Procedures at the bedside include Percutaneous Tracheostomy, Bronchoscopy assisted by our staff. Summary: Provides competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards. Reporting and accountable to the Nurse Manager/Director, the Clinical Nurse is responsible for coordinating and delivering patient care utilizing the nursing process in a hospital setting. Description UNC Medical Center is hiring for New Grad Nurses for the Pediatric Acute Care Unit. This application is for a February 2027 start date. Our Pediatric Acute Care Medicine Unit is a 24 bed pediatric unit providing both acute and intermediate level of care for newborns to 21 years of age. The staff have a strong knowledge base of seizure management, family teaching, central line catheter care, pediatric growth and development, respiratory illness, parenteral nutrition, complex hydration regiment, home ventilators, and high flow oxygen therapy. The unit also provides care for pediatric surgical patients. The Pediatric Medicine staff are highly committed to caring for pediatric patients and their families. This is a 36 hour per week position with day/night rotation and weekday/weekend rotation. It is expected that candidates will have their North Carolina RN license prior to their start date.
