Job Overview The Medical Assistant Learner performs limited medical assistant tasks and responsibilities while studying toward a Medical Assistant Diploma, within limits of current training. Work is guided and overseen by a Lead Medical Assistant and Clinic Manager. May assist Physician and Advanced Practice Professional with procedures and treatments as trained and directed. This position may perform some administrative duties including patient check in and out, scheduling referrals and follow-ups, filling out forms, mailing correspondence, obtaining signatures, and directing phone calls. The Medical Assistant Learner is responsible for adhering to all safety standards, policies, procedures, and practice guidelines, promoting teamwork with all members of the health care team, maintaining complete, timely and accurate clinical documentation for each patient while continually looking for opportunities to improve processes and workflow. Upon successful completion of the MA program, the goal is to transfer into a full-time Medical Assistant position with the organization. Candidates must be available to start school the week of Monday, October 5, 2026 Position Details: The Diploma program is one-year long. Learners are required to work a .6 FTE (48 hours per two-week pay period) at the clinic and be accepted into the Medical Assisting program (full time) at Rasmussen University (the Eagan campus) after receiving a job offer. Learners must maintain full time enrollment and passing grades and must intend to continue employment at Fairview. Learners are responsible for their tuition bills and as benefit eligible employees have access to the following: Tuition Assistance – $5,250 per year with a one-year work commitment. This benefit is in the form of direct pay to the school if the employee submits the required documentation at least 30 days prior to class starting, or in the form of reimbursement to the employee at the end of the quarter with the required documentation. Medical Assistant Learner

Job Overview The Medical Assistant Learner performs limited medical assistant tasks and responsibilities while studying toward a Medical Assistant Diploma, within limits of current training. Work is guided and overseen by a Lead Medical Assistant and Clinic Manager. May assist Physician and Advanced Practice Professional with procedures and treatments as trained and directed. Provide education and support to patients and caregivers that enable them to safely and effectively self-administer medications and solutions. This includes storage, aseptic technique, equipment use, side effects and potential complications. Coordinate the discharge of patients when goals are met with the physician and other disciplines to achieve an orderly transition for the patient/family. Provide patient clinical care and coordination in a variety of environments including patient's home, infusion suites and hospital. Train patients in the self-administration of treatments and how to quickly recognize and respond to symptoms of adverse physical reactions to treatments.
