Company : Allegheny Health Network Job Description : The CTICU is an 8-bed intensive care unit specializing in cardiothoracic surgery, cardiovascular interventions and vascular surgery. We are a growing program, seeing new procedures and admitting upwards of 250 plus open heart surgery patients a year. Devices commonly utilized in this unit are IABP, Impella, EKOs, transvenous pacemakers and swan-ganz catheters. The unit is supported by Dr. El-Khatib, our primary cardiothoracic surgeon, 24/7 intensivists, and a team of interventional cardiologists. Our care is patient centered and our processes are nurse-driven. The multidisciplinary approach is vital to quality patient care with daily nurse-led patient rounds.
