Position Summary The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is responsible for providing direct nursing services within an outpatient addiction treatment setting. The LPN works closely with physicians, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, counselors, and other treatment professionals to support client health, safety, and recovery outcomes. Responsibilities include medication administration, nursing assessments, withdrawal monitoring, patient education, and clinical documentation. Essential Responsibilities Provide direct nursing care and clinical support to clients. Administer medications and monitor effectiveness and side effects. Complete nursing assessments, screenings, and documentation. Monitor withdrawal symptoms using tools such as COWS and CIWA. Educate clients on medications, health conditions, and recovery-related topics. Support providers during medical evaluations and medication management appointments. Communicate significant health concerns and changes in condition to the treatment team. Maintain medication storage, clinical supplies, and medical equipment. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure continuity of care. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all professional, regulatory, and organizational standards. Qualifications Required Current, active, and unrestricted Pennsylvania LPN license Current CPR/BLS & First Aid certification Possession of strong communication and organizational skills Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team Preferred Experience in addiction medicine, substance use disorder treatment, or behavioral health Knowledge of withdrawal management protocols and medication-assisted treatment (MAT) Experience working with individuals experiencing co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. Shift: 7:00am - 7:00pm OR 7:00pm - 7:00am - prn as needed at least 4 shifts per month Pay: $35 - $40/hr Responsibilities: Communicate with other disciplines to ensure client needs are met and participate in chart monitoring and action planning. Work a rotating weekend schedule with the ability to work every other weekend. Review and follow detox protocols. Assist staff during high-volume shifts by prioritizing, organizing, and completing unit scheduling. Orient new nurses as needed. Maintain medical equipment and conduct medical lectures for clients as needed. Administer medications and complete Medication Administration Records (MAR). Complete necessary labs for treatment, including HCG, urine, BAC, and glucometer tests. Administer IM and SQ medications and Narcan as necessary. Ensure labs are addressed and reviewed, and manage physician orders. Follow proper consent procedures. Participate in Performance Improvement Projects. Maintain staff development needs and keep records up to date. Complete nursing competency and evaluation processes. Adhere to Evidence Based Practice guidelines. Engage in continued nursing training and monthly meetings for professional development. Conduct nursing assessments, develop treatment plans, administer medication, monitor vitals, follow detox and other medical protocols, and assist medical providers as needed. Consult and collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care. Coordinate with outside medical providers, hospitals, and community resources to support continuity of care. Participate in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings and contribute to treatment planning. Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation. Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory, accreditation, and organizational standards. Qualifications Active and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or dual certification as both a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) in Virginia. DEA registration (or ability to obtain). Experience working in substance use disorder treatment, behavioral health, addiction medicine, or a related healthcare setting preferred. Compensation for this role starts at $63 per hour and may increase based on the candidate’s experience, education, and credentials.
