Summary PA-C / APRN- Inpatient APP Dept. - (GU Surgical Oncology) Based in the Genitourinary (Urology) Department , this primarily Inpatient Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant position provides patient care under the auspices of the Moffitt Medical Group (MMG) , supports GU department Urologists and Surgical Oncologists , and serves as member of the academic medical enterprise; advancing the institutional mission of contributing to the prevention and cure of cancer. Position Highlights Assists physicians with the evaluation, management and treatment of specialty-specific patients with different medical problems, procedures and co-morbidities. Works within a defined scope of practice and under the authority of supervising physician(s) or by specific protocol(s). Assists with coverage of the Urologic Oncology Surgical Service and care of their patients throughout hospitalization, as the primary admitting team at Moffitt Magnolia Hospital (MMH). Will see Initial Urology Inpatient Consults that originate at MMH (from Inpatients Units/IHM). Assists in management of medical and surgical urology consults, admissions, and infusion center patients. Will see Initial Urology Inpatient Consults that originate at Moffitt Magnolia Campus (from Inpatients Units and Urgent Care). Responsibilities Provides patient care as a member of an interdisciplinary team, working with different providers to coordinate and optimize patient care of post-operative patients Responds to inpatient consults requests for the specialty, assesses the patient and escalates as necessary. Correlates subjective and objective data to formulate a differential or working diagnosis. Formulates treatment plans for medical conditions within scope of practice. May perform primary medical exams and admit patients to the surgical services of the GU Oncology program. May perform minor surgical procedures within scope of practice. Prescribes oral and IV medications when appropriate, within the scope of practice. Documents patient care in accordance with medical staff rules. Additional Information This position will assess, manage and staff inpatient consults. Assessment and escalation are critical components of this position. This position will monitor post-operative and inpatient care of GU Oncology surgical patients. The inpatient care will also include discharge planning and management under the guidance of the attending. This is a Monday through Friday day shift position, hours 6:00am - 4:30pm, working 4x10 hour days. If preference is for 5x8 hour days, that could be accommodated. No evening or weekend call. No Moffitt recognized Holidays. Credentials And Qualifications Bachelor's degree at minimum; master's degree preferred. Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Advanced Registered Nurse program. Active FL medical license (or the ability to obtain one) and national certification by the appropriate accreditation body. Active BLS and ACLS. Experience in oncology, critical care, or general internal medicine; previous urology specific experience or inpatient experience preferred.

Summary Position Highlights: Under the direction of a Registered Nurse, the Surgical Technologist II establishes and maintains the sterile field for surgical procedures. Minimum Experience Required Graduate of an approved Surgical Technologist program. 2- 5 years relevant clinical experience as a Surgical Technologist in an OR environment required with 1 year of service at Moffitt. CST Certification must be through either National Center for Competency testing (NCCT) or National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA). Responsibilities Preoperative Case Management Assist RN circulator with preparing the operating room, including but limited to gathering and opening necessary equipment, instruments and supplies. Performing surgical scrub and donning sterile gown and gloves. Establish and organize the sterile filed. Prepare and label irrigation fluids. Prepare and label medication on sterile field. Perform initial sponge, sharps and instrument count. Assist sterile team members with donning surgical attire, draping and sterile setup. Participate in procedure safe surgical checklist prior to procedure start. Interoperative Case Management Demonstrates competence and clinical skills to care for specific patient groups: infants, adolescents, adults and geriatric.
