Registered Nurse - Outpatient Pavilion - Full Time

Responsible for the delivery of patient care for assigned patients on a specific shift worked. Coordination of all aspects of the medical plan and nursing standards of care using the nursing process for Pre-op, Post-op, PACU, and OR. Also directs and guides the activities of other personnel while maintaining standards of professional nursing. Must be able to provide the care needed as described in the department’s policies and procedures. Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served in the operating room including the principles of growth and development over the life span. Must possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status and interpret the information needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to his/her age specific needs as they relate to the surgical experience. Must be able to provide the care needed as described in the department’s policies and procedures. This nurse would be responsible for providing patient care as the OR circulator and the post op recovery nurse. Requirements: High School Diploma and nursing degree, BSN preferred. Current and valid Registered nurse license in the Commonwealth of Virginia or from a state that is part of a Compact agreement with Virginia. BLS ACLS & PALS within six (6) months of hire CPAN, CAPA, CNOR, or Cardiac Monitoring certification preferred. Minimum of one (1) year of RN experience preferred. Previous PACU or critical care experience preferred. Previous ambulatory surgery or OR experience preferred. Skills: Clinical competence in all aspects of the OPS/PACU Unit. Completion of annual Augusta Health education requirements and unit competencies. Annual education required per hospital certification(s). Demonstrates good leadership and communication skills. Demonstrates job related computer competence as seen in patient documentation and information retrieval, Meditech applications. Practices within scope of Nurse Practice Act. Familiar with current Standards of Peri anesthesia Nursing Practice and AORN guidelines. Familiar with DNV standards applicable to daily work practices. Ability to meet physical and mental requirements for job in a fast paced, operating surgical setting. Group Fitness Instructor - PRN

Position will teach group fitness classes to fitness members and guests. Shift varies, with potential for daylight, evening or weekend hours as needed. Requirements Must have knowledge and experience teaching group fitness classes, the ability to communicate with special populations and instruct members through a full scope of safe, effective exercises. Certification required from a national organization. AFAA, ACE, AEA or a specialty field such as cycling, yoga, pilates, tai chi, chi kung or les mills certification. CPR required or obtained in orientation period. Have a working knowledge of all fitness equipment used in group programming. Strong interpersonal and customer service skills. 1-year experience in teaching group fitness classes, prefer 3 years’ experience. Willingness to work different shifts, weekends, and/or holidays.
