JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for coordinating and performing general office functions and receptionist duties including greeting patients, typing correspondence, filing, answering phones and transmitting messages. Completes return phone calls to patients, physician offices, etc. Orders medical and office supplies as needed. Appropriately screens patient referrals from physician offices and schedules appointments. Completes tasks to ensure patient registration and precertification. Inputs orders and processes patient payments. Performs office charge entry. ER REGISTRATION REPRESENTATIVE- PRN

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Completes the registration of patients into the hospital computer system according to hospital procedures, including: Performs bedside registration for Emergency Room patients. Pre-registers and registers patients for direct admission, scheduled admissions, outpatient surgeries and outpatient ancillary services in order to allow timely and accurate billing to third party payers and patients. Verifies and assures accurate documentation of financial and demographic information. Updates computer system if needed and makes copies of insurance cards for appropriate departments. Explains purpose of and obtains signatures for all consent forms and witnesses signatures of patients and responsible parties (consent for treatment, financial consent, Medicare Message advance directive, MSP form, and the HIPAA Revalidation consent form). Scans all forms for consent to treatment, financial forms, insurance cards, Photo ID's, HIPAA revalidation forms, ABN forms, and etc. Enters PA # and pre-cert number from insurance certification/referral letters-scans letters into system. Scans the PATA orders into system, plus some off-site registrations into system. Obtains pre-certification, referrals and prior authorizations on all hospital admissions, ER managed care, same day surgeries and required ancillary services within 24 hours of admission or next working day. Keys all required certification information into hospital computer systems. Coordinates with Case Management Department to ensure accurate execution of third party benefit program activities to best benefit the patient. Coordinates with Patient Access Specialists to provide accurate information to facilitate verification of benefits. Collects co-pays/deductibles for ED services. Also functions as Cashier during hours when the Cashier's office is closed. Accepts payment for admission deposits and patient valuables and accepts payment for current and past medical services and issues a receipt to the patient. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Transports food and supplies from the Nutrition Services Main Production Area to patient service areas throughout the hospital. JOB RESPONSIBILLITIES: Restores and promotes patient’s health by completing the nursing process including but not limited to: a. Completes initial nursing assessment within 24 hours of admission or per Behavioral Health Unit/JMH (Johnson Memorial Health) policy; reassesses routinely throughout patient’s stay on the unit. b. Completes individualized treatment plan for each patient. c. Plans, implements, and coordinates nursing care activities for patients. d. Conducts therapies in accordance with patient’s diagnosis and needs. e. Performs treatment interventions following physician orders such as medication administration and medical treatment orders. f. Ensures patient’s dignity and respects patient values. g. Assists with patient personal needs (oral hygiene, toileting, bathing, dressing, transferring, etc.) as required. h. Works with Manager to provide leadership and direction in accordance with organizational and departmental goals and objectives. Participates in unit's Performance Improvement plan to improve organizational performance. Assists in maintaining budgetary limits in both operating expense and FTE's by utilizing limited resources appropriately. Responsible for meeting staffing standards on assigned unit/shift. Provides for professional growth and development of staff. Assists Manager in establishing a climate conducive to meeting educational needs and efforts of the unit. Assists Manager with tracking compliance of assigned staff with mandatory meetings, in- services, and tests. Oversees and coordinates orientation of new staff. Acts as preceptor when needed. Assists with conducting unit meetings on a regular basis according to unit standards. Participates in completion of staff performance evaluations. Assists Manager in counseling employees, developing staff, and as appropriate, utilizing disciplinary process. Supervises professional and/or technical unit staff and student nurses on shift.
